The tainted First Minister
at 07:16 18 May 2024

Sunaks wealth increases as government ministers help Infotech to gain better access to UK government projects.
There was a case a few months back where a UK minister had promised Infotech that he would do what he could to assist them.
They should be doing what they can to assist UK companies not ensuring that even more work leaves the country

Now that Plaid have withdrawn from the agreement with Labour, it must be time for a new election.
Don't do what the Scots did and go for a 3rd leader.

He is a typical lower mid-table Championship bench warmer.
Would probably start in lower mid-table League One.
Most poor Championship teams have the same sort of player. Not too expensive and won't look out of place for the last 10 minutes now and again.

They performed better at the end of the season than the rest of it. It would seem unlikely that they could have improved further that season given the previous 26 matches performance.
It's almost impossible to prove that they would given their results.
If they had drawn a few, then there is a remote argument for turning a draw to a win. But the best that they are hoping for is either a 2 goal change due to 1 player, or pulling off 3 draws from the games that they lost by 1 goal.
It seems like a massive waste of legal fees and time

They picked up 15 points from the last 13 games. If they had held that form all season they would have finished mid table

Sala would have signed at the end of the transfer window, that only left him with 13 games to play in. Of those 13 games Cardiff won 5. So they can only claim additional points for the other 8. They finished 2 points behind Brighton with a -13 goal difference in comparison, so they needed 3 points realistically.
They lost 5-1 to Watford, so can't claim anything
3-0 to Everton so can't really claim they'd get anything
2-0 to Wolves, 1 point but doubtful
2-1 to Chelsea who finished 3rd, so nothing plausible
2-0 to Man city, so no points plausible
2-0 to Burnley, potentially a point
2-0 to Liverpool, no points likely
1-0 away to fulham who finished below them
3-2 home against Palace who finished 12th

There are at best a couple of games where they could have got a point, Fulham, Palace and Burnley. Otherwise the other games Pele in his prime wouldn't have made any difference.

Why do those 3 typify SCFC?
Williams has only been here 3 months and hasn't exactly been setting the Championship alight. Martinez transformed the team in the first few months of becoming manager.
I can see what you mean with the other two.
Coleman has done a pretty poor job, gates are down, season ticket sales are down, recruitment is down. Yes, that's all the same direction the club has been going for 8 years.

Cabango is slow, cumbersome, changes direction slower than the Ark Royal and Championship standard at best. So, yes, I see your point, they are a fair reflection of SCFC over the past 8 years

They are specifically targeting kids with the flavours and single use kits that are cheap to buy.
They are made in China but are illegal there. They just export them everywhere else

Vaping is a ticking time bomb. Just as smoking was reducing in numbers along comes vaping and huge numbers take it up as a safe alternative.
Now it's starting to come to light that it is just as harmful.

The Wragg story is incredible. On investigation it became apparent that the same messages were sent to numerous other MPs whilst attending conferences. Wragg wasn't the only one to reply and become involved, he is just the first to admit to it.
They don't know who is behind it. It could potentially be a foreign state, bit possibly journalists. Either way, at least one senior politician sent pics of his bits to strange men that he had never met. In a position in the government that should be instant dismissal. He then gave out other ministers phone numbers to unknown person, again instant sacking territory. Yet he gets called Brave and has to stand down if his own accord.

It seems pretty clear that political conventions are some sort of Roman orgy.
The whole lot of them are a depraved disgrace

Ronald fatigued after a promising start at Swansea City
at 12:08 9 Apr 2024

There has been numerous occasions where Yates could have had a tap in if he was willing to throw himself where he coukd get hurt. A couple in the Southampton game sprung to mind. It was on the line if he was willing to slide into the post at the same time. But, on each occasion he pulls out and misses the chance.
If you've not got much pace, not great in the air and you can't shoot for s@#t. Then at least put yourself about a bit.

He has put some real, quality balls into the box. The problem is that our forwards are League 2 standard at best.
With a decent striker Ronald would have 5 or 6 assists already. De Bruyne and Foden would be lucky to get an assist for Yates and Cullen

The next 3 games will make a big difference to who goes down.
I think we will get 2 home wins and a draw. Then we have more than enough to be safe and can play some of the kids for the final games.
If we get nothing out of those 3 then we are right back in it.

Would it be better if Swansea got relegated.?
at 08:00 7 Apr 2024

When we rose through the divisions, we kept our best players and replaced the poorer ones. We made slow progress, then each of Martinez, Rodgers and Laudrup came in with a list of players that they wanted and we made a bigger advance.

Cooper and Martin brought their own players in. We could only loan in Coopers and just missed out on promotion. Martins in general were not good enough e.g. Fisher, Sorinola, Darling.

Our recruitment, without manager input has often been poor e.g the returns of Ayew, Bony, Trundle etc too many poor signings to mention

For the current owners plans to have any success they need to bring in managers with more experience with top sides, someone with great contacts. Not someone who has managed mid table lower league teams.

If we were to go down, there would be another fire sale of players. Then we would buy cheaper players of poorer quality. Each summer we would sell anyone of value and buy cheaper than we received. Slowly we would fall down that division until we were in a yearly relegation battle.

Why take Brooks off though?
We needed more energy in extra time and he sub's off a guy who had only been on 20 minutes and had 2 breaks in that time.
Most of the team had played 112 minutes and he had played about 20

So the MoD is lying but you know best?
This is at least the second discussion I've joined on this forum where someone's entire argument is "everyone is lying to you, it's all a conspiracy". It is so tedious to end up in a discussion with people who think everything is a conspiracy. It's such a pointless debate.

The UK MoD calculate it to be at least 355,000.

Terrorist attack in Moscow (warning - graphic video)
at 22:26 22 Mar 2024

ISIS are claiming responsibility.
Where does that put Putin and his Special Military Operation?
Close to 500,000 Russians dead or severely injured fighting what Putin claimed was their main threat. Then they are attacked on Russian soil by a group that the US had been battling for 20 years.
Must make people in Russia wonder what Putin has been talking about? Why go to war with a neighbour who has never posed any threat when the real threat goes unnoticed.
