| Forum Thread | Nine of Bellamy's squad Swans been on Swans academy books. at 15:40 2 Oct 2024
What a great contribution the Swans make to the national cause, 9 players in the current squad have been part of the Swansea academy. Davies, Cabango, Rodon, Roberts, Sheehan, Cooper, Allen, Cullen and Norrington-Davies. We have always had a fine record of providing players for the Welsh team. |
| Forum Thread | Fan gallery photograph at 14:14 24 Jan 2022
Could anybody help me retrieve a sentimental photo from the fan gallery. Unfortunately, it was from some time ago. I have tried search engines and sifting through old threads on the club website with no luck. It was Man City away 05/02/2016 outside the ground the photo did appear in the fan gallery on the club website. It would mean a lot. |
| Forum Thread | Racist behaviour and a lack of club action at 22:01 20 Nov 2021
The violent scenes today in the East stand are a disgrace and were instigated by a group who have in the past displayed openly racist behaviour. During the Cardiff game my daughter and I called out two of this group for shouting racist insults which were vile. Prior to this she had spoken to them about booing taking the knee to which the reply was 'It's political' Following the game I e-mailed the club with detailed information about the racist behaviour of this group. There was also health and safety concerns regarding these people standing on seats and when we scored and falling on to supporters in front of them and injuring one guy. I made it clear that I felt this behaviour would be repeated and some overt stewarding would be required with senior stewards present. If my suggestions had been implemented decisive intervention today when the flags were displayed would have prevented the violent scenes. I feel let down by the club and unsupported when tackling racism on the terraces. Lots of fine words before the Cardiff game have not been backed up by action to root out racists. The club must support the fans when they call out racist behaviour as well as their players. My wife tackled them today about booing taking the knee. I exchanged a number of e-mails with people in the club and identified the problem and perpetrators. The club must now take action to stop this blatant racism and protect the health and safety of supporters. It is time they took seriously their duty of care to us and not leave it to us to police people's behaviour. |
| Forum Thread | Excellent service from the Liberty Stadium at 09:55 25 Feb 2021
For the first time I couldn't get the livestream to work last night. Whatever I tried, a number of times on different accounts and devices, when I clicked on watch live just took me back to the previous page. I emailed the problem to the club at 7.39 hoping it might be sorted before the Bristol game. Had an email response at 7.43 which I didn't see. At 7.45 a telephone call from a Denise Ruffell to talk me through fixing the problem and stayed on the phone until I had could view the game. Had to clear all my browsing history which as I'm not very technical wouldn't have occurred to me. Thank you Denise. |
| Forum Thread | Max gone to a BIG club. at 11:17 18 Jan 2021
Yet again I feel so inadequate. How ever much I wash and beat myself up I can't get Swansea off me or out of me. In these troubled times it is reassuring that the media in our capital reiterate the size of CCFC and confirm us as the unwashed down west. Max is a young virgin but has been fully impregnated with the 1927 vaccine. It is great he has arrived at a BIG sleeping giant. No doubt they will take as much care of him as Harry Wilson. I'm all done in, off to put my head in the oven, this will hurt, it's electric. https://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1062985379?-1881:1065 |
| Forum Thread | Cooper the coach doesn't improve players. at 20:58 8 Feb 2020
The prerequisite of a coach is that he improves players under his tutelage, Cooper is clearly failing to do this. I can't really identify any player I have seen since the start of the season who now looks more accomplished. However, there does seem to be a number that have regressed quite alarmingly, Grimes, Byers and Roberts come to mind. |
| Forum Thread | Importance of academy highlighted. at 18:17 16 Aug 2019
There's nothing quite like the refrain 'He's one of our own.' Fans love to see a player their club has nurtured break into the first team and succeed. In the past few weeks we have seen how the club can generate considerable funds and how an input of young players can bolster the first team. I really enjoyed watching the contribution youngsters made in the cup match this week. It is a considerable investment for a club like Swansea outside the top tier to maintain it's Category 1 status. The highest rated academies are able to sign the best players and command the largest fees. Category 1 academies have high contact time with young players, require a minimum of 18 full-time staff and an operational budget of £2.5m. Academies are reviewed every two years and re-categorised if necessary. Categorisation is the result of an independent audit. If we maintain our present status in this league it will take considerable nerve and commitment to finance the academy. This will be especially so when in the lean years we may produce very little of any quality. A concern must also be the possible poaching of academy staff by others and of course the disappointment Cameron Toshack must feel. To avert any exits may again take more money in extra wages. I did both my referee and coaching badges many years ago and developing young players is full of many unfulfilled dreams and potential never being achieved. This makes our academy really something very special and a jewel to be treasured. |
| Forum Thread | Commentary on Radio Kent at 15:51 26 Jan 2019
Could not make the game today. Listening to commentary on Radio Kent, really interesting to hear a different perspective. Very complimentary of our players and style of play plus attitude. Marked difference to Cardiff, but then bigger fish to fry I suppose. |
| Forum Thread | Ayew suspension says everything. at 22:19 7 Apr 2018
The suspension of Ayew has had a massive impact on performance. This yet again highlights how weak this squad is. The manager has done really well. Hope no injuries knock out any key players as there is little or in some positions no cover. |

If Stoke exit via the trap door could we get Joe in a fire sale if we reach the shore with Captain Carlos? |
| Forum Thread | Great News Lawro's Prediction at 18:42 8 Feb 2018
The master pundit has used his crystal ball and yet again predicted a Swans loss two goals to nil against Burnley. Hopefully his wonderful track record of predicting how the Swans will perform will continue! |

What I would give for the ghosts of Luke Moore and Sian Massey's offside flag against a title chasing Man City sde. |
| Forum Thread | I can't stand this time of year. at 10:27 28 Jun 2017
I like the summer sports but I don't care about them. Love cricket and spent many happy days on the pop at St. Helens in the 70s and 80s. Will watch golf, tennis and athletics cos there is nothing else on. Couldn't wait for last season to end so we were safe now just want the pain to start again and of course the patches of sheer joy. Where is my round ball mistress?? So sad. |
| Forum Thread | Spurs cockerel - get stuffed. at 10:51 18 Jun 2017
Mawson 15m, be worth a lot more if he continues to progress under Clement and his staff. Yes, we are little old Swansea and will sell but not now. He can help ensure our status and be worth a lot more. |
| Forum Thread | England, the gift that keeps on giving at 09:09 14 Jun 2017
Got to be up there with Fawlty Towers. Performance of a pub team against a poor Scotland line up then swarmed over and engulfed by 10 French youngsters. I'm afraid the hurt is going to be extended towards 60 years. I enjoyed the youngsters in the under 20 cup, it was the immediate cocky, arrogant drivel after that England were about to be a major force again got me. Iceland still tickles my ribs!! |
| Forum Thread | Mascot packages for our kids. at 14:33 13 Jun 2017

| Forum Thread | New statues for the Liberty. at 13:29 17 May 2017
I have a mate who is an Arsenal fan who is always moaning about the Emirates. He was having a rant about who should or shouldn't have statues outside the ground. It set me to thinking about my time supporting the Swans and who would deserve a statue. For me it would be: Britton Curtis Toshack Who would you have? |
