Great piece. Well done. "Perhaps we could test their 'passion for the pyramid' by agreeing to every single one of the proposals put forward by this wolf with a sheepskin rug over its back, except the voting rights." Yes. When I read the (also fantastic) Athletic article which broke down the proposal, that was my takeaway as well. Much of this stuff? Meh, fine, whatever. But not the voting rights. That's the red-line. That's where the fight is. |

This sort of bummed me out. I get that I don't really understand and never will (though experiencing it vicariously through this blog and the podcast suggests its pretty awesome.) I'm sorry you guys can't experience it tomorrow. |

"Well, here are your standards. In a game that meant nothing to us, against an opponent for whom this was everything, at the end of a year-long season, without enough players to name a full compliment of substitutes, with half the fanbase actively wanting us to lose for the bantz, we picked the strongest team available, put in the best performance we could muster, took a point off a Premier League team in waiting, and scored the goal of the night." The entire recap was great, but this passage in particular legit amped me up. Absolutely right |

While I don't hate Clarke or anything (and truth be told, I do think there's some legitimate talent there), I'm not sure I get the logic of even dressing him at this point. QPR isn't going up or down, so those sort of minutes should go to players we get to keep (Masterson, Oteh, Shodipo, etc.) Hugill may well stick around another year and he's at least a legitimate starting caliber striker in the Championship, so I get continuing to run him out there as a loanee. But with Clarke, unless Tottenham is outright paying QPR to run a finishing school for their academy players, I don't really get him being in the team selection at this point. |

Point well taken regarding the madness Villa and Newcastle brought into this league, but looking out to next season, there's a realistic chance that both Villa AND West Ham are in the Championship. Factor in the potential for Leeds to blow it again this season and you could have one heck of an arms race at the top of next season's table. To your point, QPR is probably looking out more in the 18-24 month range for really pushing all in; so the club would be well advised to stay out of that potential silliness next season and just play for safety. But it could be a wild campaign. |

Great recap. Game was completely bananas. I was texting my friends updates throughout the second half and was sure the game would get tied up. Oh well. Matt Smith is a monster. Guy probably won 30 headers in this game. Glad he's not in Milwall right now |
