This all day long. 4 goals in 35 games tells it's story. Two of those were against Iceland in his third game so it's two goals in his last thirty two games. Someone with the ability he shows for his club should be on at least 12-13 by now. [Post edited 17 Jun 15:44]

We have a lot of very talented players of that there is no question but the eleven best players don't always make the best team. To me, Southgate like Eriksson and Capello before him, is falling into the old trap of shoehorning players into the team out of position rather than playing a maybe slightly lesser talented player in his correct position. I've never got Foden for England. Personally he hasn't done it in an England shirt, he isn't the same player that plays for his club but is no doubting he is more effective centrally. For me, he isn't in Bellingham's class so he doesn't play, he is his understudy. I would play Gordon on the left of the three behind Kane. Most teams wouldn't fancy Saka's pace on the right and Gordon's on the left. [Post edited 17 Jun 11:24]

We also lost the first game at the 1968 Euros although admittedly it was a semi final as back then it was two semis and the final. The game where the first ever sending off for an England player occurred (Alan Mullery). Our first game record in the World Cup pre-1982 was nothing to write home about neither. 1970 - Romania 1-0 1966 - Uruguay 0-0 1962 - Hungary 1-2 1958 - Soviet Union 2-2 1954 - Belgium 4-4 1950 - Chile 2-0 |

Tommy Doc signed him in the 1979 close season after relegation, after he took over from the hapless Burtenshaw (signed TC on 9th August according to the stats section on qprnet.com) You could also say he was STILL a current international as he'd played in two of the three Home International games in May and then a friendly in Sweden the following month. |

That was Sky's 'competition' such as it was before Sky ended up taking them over. |

You may not need to make it all safe standing if it were rebuilt like Ipswich have done with the Bobby Robson stand at Ipswich (managed to find a pic) (the white clad stand on the left that goes along Sir Alf Ramsey Way) It seems a cleverly designed stand how they've done it. You could have upper seating and lower safe standing. I posted earlier in the thread about rebuilding the SAR stand like it but somebody pointed out that that stand is south facing so you'd have light problems for anything facing it but wouldn't have the same issue in Loftus Road. |

"Phil Neville got forty plus caps for England.Another one of life’s mysteries" Worse than that mate, he got nearly sixty (fifty nine to be exact). |

For me, if we moved, my preference would be to still be in the London postcode area either a W or NW postcode so Uxbridge, Hillingdon, Greenford and Ruislip would be out for me. [Post edited 11 Jun 11:41]

Brian Clough: We've got a little fat guy who will turn him inside out Gary Newbon: John Robertson Brian Clough: Yeah, a very talented, highly skilled, UNBELIEVABLE outside left, he'll turn him inside out! |

Looking at the Sir Bobby Robson stand at Portman Road from the outside on Google Street View (one of the newer stands behind the goals, can't find a pic online) the upper half seems to overhang the street below. https://maps.app.goo.gl/prXhPECKGC3kSeHP6 Does anyone think the SAR stand could be rebuilt like that to make it bigger? Up against Francois who has a 31,000 majority, one of the safest in the country. You'd think that even with how badly they're likely to do, the Tories won't lose that seat. |

Not for the first couple of seasons he didn't, he was regular first choice. It started going wrong in the first PL season when he made one or two errors culminating in a horror show at home to Palace just before Christmas. Gerry Francis seemed to lose confidence in him after that and he didn't play the rest of that season. He replaced Roberts early on the next season 93/94and played a good chunk of the season before losing his place again but even if his contract wasn't expiring and he hadn't wanted to return to the Czech Republic I don't think Gerry Francis would have been wanting to offer him a new deal.
