Bloke's got a dubious attitude if you ask me. Sell him on. |

Why? A British enclave between Spain and Morocco? Do you have a good reason? |

Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna is the leading candidate by all accounts. |

'Keeping up with play' now that's amusing. As for knowing about football - most ref's haven't played at a high level so how much more do they really know than a fan that's as intelligent and has been watching the games year in year out? After all most non-technical decisions are subjective. The ref's do choose to take it up and possibly because they prefer the authority and not love the game. Some ref's are good , some are average and some are downright dreadful. Surely a ref can admit that? |

Forced to make injury changes but Martin's been a lot more calculating and positive in the last couple of games, second half performances particularly. Even the substitutions have been sensible. Hopefully we'll have Adams, and a proper left back, reinstated for the Final. Tactically Martin's been much more assured. |

Best game I've seen him play for Saints. Stand out player. Will's come of age and crucially on a big occasion. More to come from Will, starting from next Sunday. |

Definitely the first pen , definitely not the second. The ref knew he was evening up. |
| Forum Thread | Looks as if Adams is on his way out to Wolves at 19:10 16 May 2024
Negotiations going swimmingly apparently. I think he's been good for the club although not a prolific scorer ( I don't think think the supply has ever been good enough for one reason although he has wasted a fair few chances) but can we replace him? I'd love the club to go and acquire Sammie Szmodics. and show some positivity. OK we've got Stewart ( almost forgot) but I can't seriously see him being regularly fit. So we need somebody else. A fit Stewart and Szmodics should be a handful. Although we'll probably be lumbered with someone not even Adams' equal. https://eplindex.com/110525/report-wolves-eyeing-bargain-move-for-southampton-fo [Post edited 16 May 19:58]

About time. Actually fought for - for a change. Good Stuff - long may it continue. Cut-out the stupid tippy tappy in defence and we'll be very serious contenders. Adams went off injured, hope he's fine for next week. [Post edited 4 May 14:33]

Exactly, seems obvious doesn't it? Level means he was onside because it wasn't 'clear and obvious' even with dubious tech generated lines. Why do we allow the game to be controlled with technological micro precision? It's nonsense because it isn't a reliable system , or all pervasive system, anyway. Get rid of VAR and bring the game back to 'human error' ie the ref and assistants doing their job. Technological dependency is ruining and killing; 'Smart' Motorways, a myriad of weapons, certain medical substances and procedures, pollution, poisonous foodstuffs etc. If we demanded non-tech or parallel manual 'old style' systems the world would be a much safer and better place. Whether it's designed as such or not, it seems the technology is just another way to assist the money-makers and Big Clubs; the Elite, and allow that Elite to have further greater control hence preposterous wealth accumulation. Great for them but useless and damaging, or worse, for the 99%. Yes, an example can be seen in the Everton, Forest game. The decisions, or lack of them, by applying their 'wonderful technology', going against Forest, were an absolute disgrace. Now, for what reasons was VAR not applied there? If all was fair and just, Forest would have a very good case in court were they to be relegated because of losing a point or points here although of course it would be almost impossible to rectify by then. |

Come off it - which sane professional manager puts his veteran third choice keeper ahead of his second choice and then says he wanted to see how he did? Unbelievable, does nobody have any common sense any more? Martin's certainly true to his word in wanting to take risks. |

It's not Jack's fault he's a good servant for Saints but Martin's playing him out of position whilst shoe-horning him into the team. Tessem actually said as much and he's being very honest and he's right. I'm going blue in the face; but round pegs for round holes. That's the main reason why we've lost our way and Martin won't accept it when it's the simplest but best option. Tessem also talked about Stephens wrecking other positions because they don't know what to do to fill the gaps apparently Rothwell moved to left back to fill a gap yesterday - that's bonkers. Again it's not Stephens fault because he's assigned by Martin to do this. Stephens is a centre half full stop. |

God yes, you just reminded me of of the good old days when we would consistently overrun teams with our attacking brilliance ( Channon, The Wallace brothers Keegan, Ball, Moran) and a sound defence ( Steel, Blyth, Waldron, Wright, Watson, Nicholl etc) but that's long behind us now. Best we can hope for is a change in a manager that is clear headed and positive. It just amazes me at how incredibly lucky some of these clueless managers get to earn millions without applying common sense consistently. It also reminds one of how incompetent the owners are in picking the right man for the job. At least look for a successful experienced manager - it really isn't complicated science. |
