When I was a kid I was walking home with a few mates and we popped in the newsagents and were all daring each other to nick a can of coke which we did. I was so wracked with guilt I snuck in the next day and left 60p on the counter whilst the bloke wasn’t looking.
I couldn’t bear to live with the shame of being a liar or a thief.
Lb Dems 56 seats? I would be staggered if they get anywhere near that. Their campaign is an absolute joke, “what are you going to do for the country Ed?” “Firstly im going to fall off a canoe and tomorrow we’re all off to Alton towers to ride oblivion.”
The polls are utterly pointless really. The greens will never get 7% for gods sake. They only had 2% last time. The Lib Dem’s were predicted to get twenty odd seats last time but only ended up with 10. The polls always over inflate the smaller parties. I suspect a similar thing is happening with reform. I think they’ll get a good chunk of votes nationwide but nowhere near 20% and it’ll be spread too thin to result in seats.
If civilisation collapsed and we reverted back to the Stone Age, all books all knowledge destroyed. Within a few thousand years we’d have holy books again but they’d be completely different, there’d be different gods, different rules.
But science books would come back exactly the same. Word for word. Just in a different language:
It’s disgusting. The second home thing in particular is absolutely ridiculous and being abused on a daily basis. An idea I mooted a while back is for the government to purchase 650 properties in London (or take them from the Russian sanctions) and just allocate each one randomly to every MP for their use during their term in office. It would be expensive at first but long term would be an investment, the prices would only go up over time. It would rid MPs of the opportunity to claim for extortionate mortgages and rent and moats for their duck houses. You’d probably save money long term.
They had to repay £2600. Taxpayers also had to foot the bill for £2000 for them to move their furniture in despite them being on a combined salary of £230,000.
Cooper might be competent, I quite like Ed Balls as a personality too but they were both caught with their hands in the till and therefore would be sacked under any administration run by me.
Yet the SNP can get 50 seats with 1.5 million votes. Now I’m no advocate for PR at all but something needs to be done to break the two party stranglehold the two big parties have had over British politics for the last century.
They happily set lots of things on fire, used bombs and violently assaulted people. Their body count is nowhere near the groups you mention or Hamas of course they are in a different league when it comes to scumbaggery but they certainly were a terrorist group and proudly so.
Running very fast in a straight line is probably the sort of skill set we are looking for in a winger. Would much rather that than someone who stops, turns and passes it back to the centre half every time.
We should have had a referendum on Maastricht, Nice and Lisbon really. Both parties promised them on several occasions. It should not be within the governments remit to sign powers away or fundamentally change the constitutional nature of our country without consent.
