good stuff mate; sadly out of the country, otherwise a little local event would have been a great day out.

going back to when we signed him; wasn't this after we released Dom Ball. Had all of the right stuff that Dozell lacked but was shown the door when surely would have cost next to nothing to keep and was already here.

i might be out by a season or they crossed paths, but occasionally I fondly remember the Dominator and think he'd had been more of an asset than the player we signed from Ipswich as he went the other way....

yes I know Ball got injured there but just letting my mind wonder off....

when he did come on as sub earlier in the season, he looked really lively and also with a bit of composure on the ball.

real shame that he picked up the injury as he seemed to fit in and looked pretty good*

no references to anyone else, just looked like a good prospect with a great attitude; one of our own...... blah blah

Friday music fred music heard around the house when you were growing up
at 07:24 4 May 2024

my grandad loved his crooners, particularly Nat King Cole

Mum was a huge Bassey& Mathis fan

dad loved all sorts, but I distinctly remember car drives with a Motown compilation called The Big Wheels of Motown (just googled it, 1978, I was 10) and that helped set me on my way to my love of soul and black music genres in general.

Away Kit - WISHLIST 2024/25 Season
at 07:42 1 May 2024

this; harks back to the 70s and is a really cool kit. I go to Rotterdam every year and there used to be a club shop at the train station; seeing that kit always gave me goosebumps

Watch me rise up and leave, all the ashes you made out of me – Report

Clive, you have exceeded your exceptionally high standards with this piece.

all of the emotions and history you talk about rings true for so many of us and the former glories and names mentioned seem a distant thing, but Friday night was magnificent.

I nearly skipped the game after a really really shitte week; but it turned out to be a therapy session that I really needed; particularly as my pre match was with 3 Leeds mates.

Thank you Clive, and thank you QPR for Friday night

this week has been horrible for me...

on Monday I made the heart-breaking decision to make the final journey with my beloved Weimaraner Riley. He was 14 and had been recently diagnosed with cancer; the deterioration in the few days prior to that had forced me to act as the thought of him suffering further was too much to bear.

We had been joined at the hip for 14 years and he'd seen me through the hardest of times, when I genuinely don't think id have made it without him; truly my best friend.

so at midday on Monday I took him to the vets with all of the seats folded down in the back of the car, I climbed in and lay next to him, cuddling him and telling him how much I loved him as the vet administered the anaesthetic dosage to send him on his way and he fell asleep in my arms for the last time. There was no resistance and it was more peaceful that I could have imagined; he'd run his race and it was time.

I miss him more than words can describe and will never forget that moment as long as I draw breath.

The thing is, I'll do it all again. I'd take a dog over a human 99% of the time and the only bad thing about dogs is their journey is so much shorter than ours. I've been through this 4 times as child and adult; this was the first that I was actually there for the final moments and I owed him that love and reassurance for all he's done for me.

give all of your 4 legged friends a cuddle from me; not for the first or last time this week I'm sat here now in tears.

Teeth

despite (or because of) my mum being a dental nurse I have a huge phobia of dentists. Not great with anything medical to be fair as hospitals give me a cold sweat too.

only go when something is broken and invested in good electric toothbrushes for the past 30 years. so far the damage isn't too bad and apart from a couple of big caps ive got away with some filling replacements.

avoid popcorn, pork scratchings and bon bon sweets as all 3 have led to bills in the hundreds over the years.

to quote possibly the most most famous film dentist of all.......... 'is it safe?'

Dykes' long awaited goal secures crucial QPR win - Report
at 13:40 23 Apr 2024

needed that review Clive as had the bizarre sensation of being at a Butlins 80s weekender with mates, watching this on my phone whilst my Scum mate bemoaned their defeat taking place on ALL the screens in the sportsbar!

had bumped into an R whilst chatting to a Cov stag do in the bogs; bumped into R later in his 118 fancy dress and we gave a chorus of 'never felt more like singing the blues' to my scum mate, now dressed as Adam Ant.

this brief summary was the total highlights of an otherwise forgettable weekend in Bognor Regis

gutted for Cov; one of my best mates is a fan so I'm really disappointed for him.

Robins has done a great job there and them beating those entitled self important bunch of pricks today would have been great for football in general.

so near, yet so far!
