| News Comment | Southampton Linked To Reunion With Armando Broja at 12:07:53
In the Championship we were a top team without a clinical striker. We had to play as we did. In the Prem we are not the same proposition. The final is probably more indicative of how we will play. Broja could be a good option, IF he is the best we can afford. If we can get him for 20m it could represent a great deal and a Che upgrade. My reservations are his cruciate ligament injury and his mentality both are a bit random at 22/23. Personally I can see him going to Everton |
| News Comment | Stuart Armstrong Weighing Up Options at 10:17:35
He was unhappy playing bit parts in our relegation season and his form was sporadic as a result. He is a great player and has been a great servant for Saints, however I think he may have run his course at saints. Fiorentina would be a great destination for him. |

I didn't realise Jans age. For me he has about 5 years left 3 of those will be his prime. Makes best business sense to keep him and Also for stability of the team. |
| News Comment | No Togetherness No Character No Fight at 13:16:58
Understandably people are upset. However its worth accepting that our ability to fold like a paper bag did not start with Russel Martin. We lost 5-0 to the team that will win the division with players they have acquired by breaching FFP even though they probably have the most finances in the division. They have a better squad, a better manager and played with a freedom of a team that was already promoted. Our League position and our points total is a fare reflection of what we might have expected having been relegated in last position by 6 points. Time to get out of the bed change the sheets and look forward to a trip to Wembley |

| News Comment | Southampton V Preston North End The Verdict at 11:18:21
On the performances Preston keeper earned his crust. Lumly situation is weird. Thought he was a youngster that Martin didn't want to test under pressure without prep. But he is 29! McCarthy wont be with us next season. With Alex not really being tested the decision to not play Lumly seems to be a poor one. We moved the ball out of defense so much more decisively than with Stephens. Midfield was so much more engaged. |
| News Comment | Southampton At Ipswich The Verdict at 17:50:06
8 games to sort the defense out, at the moment any team in the top 6 will fancy their chances against us in the play offs. If we don't go up this season I can see the Championship being our home for a while. |
| News Comment | Southampton V Sunderland The Verdict at 14:13:44
Great game to watch , really exiting 6 goals and some great football Left St Marys buzzing. Was always going to be difficult to dominate teams without a decent physically dominating striker. Playing a pressing game in the oppositions half if virtually impossible at home, teams will shut up shop and hope to nick a goal. My only criticism is that there was acres of space and we seem obsessed with working it down the wings. When Sulemana came on his pace and control was frightening. I have no idea why he was back defending at corners when a simple ball over the top to him would have resulted in great chances. Apart from that I am still confident we will go up , even if its through the playoffs. |
| News Comment | Southampton At Liverpool The Preview at 13:27:59
I predict that Jack Stephens will play up front. I think its the only position he hasn't had a go at so far.. But he must play ... he is the club captain after all |
| News Comment | Southampton V Huddersfield Town The Preview at 10:14:04
Jack Stephens is an issue for me 3rd choice CB and our club captain. He is just not the same standard as the other two. I'm all for changes, but would prefer that they where made when we are 2 up. That said Stuart Armstrong is a valuable commodity that should be used wisely so rotating him to allow for higher energy spells makes sense and David Brooks needs game time and him and Fraser on either wing should enable us to dominate from the beginning. |
| News Comment | Calum Chambers Shock Departure From Southampton Cited As Prime Example at 23:03:43
@underweststand How your memory has been fogged by Nicks anti Cortese rhetoric. 2014-15 was when Cortese left and and we sold; Rickie Lambert Adam Lallana Dejan Lovren Luke Shaw, Calum Chambers, Billy Sharp, We also loaned out; Dani Osvaldo, Jordan Turnbull, Jos Hooiveld, Gastón Ramírez, Jake Sinclair, Jack Stephens, Artur Boruc. Incoming manager Ronald Koeman tweeted a picture of an empty staplewood |
| News Comment | Which Southampton Player Won Applause From His Team Mates After West Brom Game at 09:13:33
@UgandaSaint. Its fashionable to moan about VAR for offsides but you are spot on here. If it was in place we would have another cup in the cabinet. The moans about VAR come from ex-players of top teams because they are less likely to benefit from biased refereeing. Although this is beginning to be addressed as there is now enough opportunity for refs and video assistant refs to punish "smaller clubs" and benefit bigger ones. Look at the uproar around Harr McGuire being offside and blocking a player in comparison to the occasion West Ham had 5 players offside challenging for the ball against us last season. |
