General Election
at 17:38 13 Jun 2024

Thanks - I hear what you say, but is it irrational to worry about the treatment of girls, women, gays and trans etc when these groups are evidently treated differently by so many adherents of this religion? Is it really political or even irrational to worry about people being thrown off buildings for their sexuality?

Also, doesn't the phrase "British people" include ethnic minorities as well?

You use the word "Islamophobic" - could you please clarify what this actually means and how you reconcile this with hard won women's and gay rights? It seems an intractable issue otherwise...

Was he holding the hand of someone in a white coat? If so, we now know where 130 lives.

Oh wait, you said a "grown man"... scratch the 130 reference in that case!

I agree with most of that, but players should remember when they kiss the badge and pledge themselves to the club etc that fans will be pissed off when they show scant loyalty 5 minutes later.

That said, unless a player has been a real moron (as in Charlie Austin's post SFC comments) I'd welcome many back, including Lallana.

He did a good job for us, but I think if we’re being very honest, his biggest attribute is his song..?

How many winning league games next season for SFC ?
at 20:29 9 Jun 2024

Whoa, buddy! This is 130, our resident skate gimp you’re talking about. He’s not a low life - he’s way more than that. He’s a sixth form re-run wannabe keyboard merchant who lives with his mum with a passing interest in the Blue Few and an obsession with Saints. Yep, you got it. A tvvat.

Let’s not forget those duplicitous tvvats, Lovren and Van Dijk. To my mind far worse than Lallana.

Yesterday Mr Sunak brought our club into disrepute by his association with us.
at 00:17 8 Jun 2024

For me, one of the joys of football is going to the pub and meeting people who you might not otherwise know . People from different walks of life and different experiences. I have football friends who are of very different political persuasions and I don’t give a fvck. What we all have in common is a love SFC. That’s the fun of it.

So all your hand wringing, pass the smelling salts bollocks about Sunak and Starmer is a load of bollocks. If I want to engage in that kind of puerile tosh I’ll pop down to my local students union.

Now, more importantly, what colour should our socks be next season?

Absolutely. This has nothing to do with SFC. What next? Arsenal banning Sir Kier if/when his policies fail? You’d have to ban half the crowd if you took into account their misdemeanours, FFS.

Best Saints team you've ever seen.

Benali? A legend and a fantastic ambassador for sure, but really, just a very ordinary player who tried very hard, but certainly not one of our best ever.

Season ticket sales looking good. How many will we sell?
at 11:44 6 Jun 2024

I believe the Northam as sold out, which is a good indicator.

As for the 'Northam Wall' given all the effort they're putting in to making this a success, does anyone know of any plans to ensure it achieves the desired effect? Take Watford a few years back. Their home end was a sea of flags apparently distributed and collected at the gate - hard to manage I bet, but it looked good.

I suspect we'll see a lot more smoke bombs too although of course illegal...

In the 'good old days' of course, bog rolls and ticker tape/confetti was the thing!

One of the first times I went to Tottenham was with a Spurs supporting friend so was in the home area. The level of swearing (and this at their own players) was at a different level to that at the Dell.

Interesting how the plod has changed.

A very good friend of mine used to be the officer in charge at Watford home games and he knew all of the local faces.

Worst trouble he ever had though was at Luton when a contingent of Watford constabulary were bussed up there to help their compadres in the Bedfordshire constabulary at the infamous Luton/Millwall match. I can’t help but chuckle a little when I see the footage of him legging it across the pitch as the Millwall fans charged and the police scattered.

He assured me the polizi got their own back big time with their truncheons as the away fans were finally filing out of the ground….

Is Adam Lallana The True Definition Of JUDAS ?
at 17:40 3 Jun 2024

He is nowhere near the true definition of a Judas. He’s just a footballer guilty of a little greed. Not the betrayer of Jesus Christ, FFS.

There is NO excuse (short of another Munich style disaster) for pulling out of the cups. The FA (and others) need to get it into their thick heads that they are mere custodians and they must not debase these competitions as they did when they allowed man u a 'bye' a few years back.

Pulling out of a domestic cup should result in automatic relegation. Also, give the FA Cup winners access to the Champions League - that would give the special 6 something to think about.

For those of us that were there in ‘76 that wait brought back traumatic memories and seemed to last forever. At least there was no mass brawling outside this time though..!
