If we can have one about Esquerdinha, we can certainly have one about Diakite. Bravo, Sir. Bravo. |

Mbengue out injured. JCS on a yellow card tightrope. Cats living with dogs, real End-Of-Days stuff. |

Much like Kemper on the left, he's making it difficult for the others to take his starting spot back. He has gone from basically 'last resort' to 'genuine First Team option' in the space of a summer. Great attitude and seems like everyone genuinely rates him. As for Lloyd, he has impressed me. He might still be undercooked in some aspects of his game but, wow, he is a real handful for any CB this season. He's quick, looks to have bulked up and his positional awareness has come on leaps and bounds. I liked the way we set up with 2 x Dev Squad products up front, with 2 more on the bench and none of them looked like they were off the pace. It's a good look for us. |

Agreed. Although, if we're not allowed to pass to him in our half, that might be a problem. |

Makes a change from 'fear of Mbengue' (which would, incidentally, be a great title for a prog album). Really hope he's not badly hurt. |

Slightly missing the point, but I love the way the defence get so pissed off when we concede. Ronnie (for the second match in succession) whacking the turf in frustration! Standards, I tells ya. |

I can't remember a more dominant fullback display than Kemper's last night. Certainly not since the likes of Bardsley and WIlson. The entire left hand side of our defence was a no-go area for Bowen, a player who is basically a cheat-code in this division. The interplay between Kemper, JCS and Kamara, in the first half particularly, was outstanding. What initially struck me was how Kemper would get free and Charles just hit him, over and over, with quick passes from the back. TBK would take it, feed it into Kamara who pinged it out to Smyth. Beautifully simple play that pinned back Walker-Peters and left Bowen scratching his pubics waiting for a ball that wasn't ever going to arrive. If play broke down, JCS moved out supporting Kemper and blocking the channel, whilst Ronnie backfilled from midfield. Proper, intelligent defensive play: no panic anywhere. Julien got his set-up absolutely bang-on for this game. When I saw the line up, I could see exactly what he was looking to do. Ronnie's flexibility (calm down) just gives us so many options in games like this. |
