Departures in the development squad
at 20:48 4 Jun 2024

You make a great point.
Some say we should do the Academy; others say pick up the throwaways from the Prem.
I say we should do both.

We need the Academy to make it harder to steal our talent and attract the ones that get pushed out from the Prem and other leagues.

This way, you may not stay in once you're in, as someone may come along from the outside and be better than you. So, as a player, you have to really go for it all the time. It's harsh, but that's the evil nature of it in reality.

Yeah, I saw that, too.

He will have been asked to check that before they put it up, which suggests he knows he's out.

Eze for England!
at 00:43 4 Jun 2024

This ...

Eze can score goals out of nowhere, and if you are slack and leave him free in the last third, he will punish you badly. He also can race upfield for breakaways, whereas the very talented Grealish, who I have always rated, slows it down.

But remember, this is Southgate, the manager who picked Mason Mount ahead of Foden, Bellingham, Grealish, Saka, Rashford, Maddison, Cole and Eze. Mount!
Mount who cannot even get in the Manure team!

In Southgash we do not trust.

He's bragging that he's using the latest AI technology (Gemini) to get faster results for our statos (subject-matter-experts). Andy Belk and the like.

We'll see if that makes any difference in our transfer dealings this summer. And if we are doubling down on a Moneyball approach.

The funny part in that statement is "to do what they are already doing", as this reveals he does not know what they really do. That part is worrying.

I would be surprised if we gave Asmir another year.
I suspect he had nothing on the table, and this is just his Agent trying to put him in the paps and possibly get us to offer something ... anything!

We are only publicly looking at the Dev Squad, so the Ins and Outs are there, as the offy has been showing for the past month.

For the First team, all clubs are waiting until player contracts run out. We shall have targets and hope our offers are better than the other teams' or that teams miss out on a player for whatever reason. This should happen after the Euros, I would assume.

I quite like the idea of Walsh as the first-choice keeper. Play him in August. If he's not up to it, we can sign a loan from a Premier League club instead before the deadline closes. But then I am biased to always play the kids.

Asmir did okay, in my view some great saves, especially against Boro, that won us points under Gaz.
His mistakes were the usual expected over season.

However, his stats are not great even if you compare them to other keepers who also had to play behind terrible defences. And we have seen that he's not as mobile coming out and helping stop breakaways.

Adding in he's bound to be on big monies for us and that means we should be looking elsewhere.
Hopefully, we shall.

Remember, if you get rid of your Dozzells, you can use the money saved to get some Andersens in.
Asmir did his job; now we move on.

Dykes injured?
at 17:18 1 Jun 2024

Very bad news for us.
We all wanted Dykes to do well and score worldies and make him a feared forward at the Euro's so ... we could sell him and laugh at whoever took him of us.

Now, we are stuck with him for sure, this is so depressing :(

Is it true that QPR are going to Girona to play two games against unpublished teams, but it probably won't be Girona themselves?
I suspect that's the case.

So, we are looking at the second of their teams in that area. I would guess that statements of "closed doors" are just to keep our traveling lot from making fools of themselves and the club by pishing it up in Spain and risking havok. That's more likely, I would assume, and it is probably possible for locals to sneak in to watch their team as they would want to see their team against QPR as well.

Also, a great way to show some Spanish scouts this Chair chap who will only cost you €12m and small wages. Not to mention Paal for €5m or Field for €7m. Much cheapness, cheapness much.

Even better, they can put 3/1 to score a header on it for that player. Odds in the game, literally!

This is the solution that keeps all happy.

They have been developed for football but FIFA banned em I think as it resulted in the ball going further than before and they were worried it would be all hoof ball.

They should be tried for decade at least to see if it makes a difference. It could be used at all levels as well. And you get to look like some cool surfer boy :P

That's true, but at least we get them out and also can spot them in those companies, which then tells us which are the dodgy companies for sure.

They reveal themselves and others.
For example, Chuka Umunna is at JPMorgan Bank.

End of Term 23/24 – Attack

I agree, Armstrong on the Wing is where he should play not as the target man as he cannot hold the ball up well. Although he is getting better at that. We shall see.

Departures in the development squad
at 15:19 16 May 2024

There are many clubs in scouting in London and not just the London clubs.

I seem to remember that Norwich and Southampton have academies in London, or were it some other clubs that had nothing to do with London?

What would have happened if Elliot had not been stolen by Liverpool and we had Academy top status? Would Liverpool have had to pay big money for him stealing him away? Would Liverpool have even bothered when they can fish elsewhere?

I think we have found players, but they have been taken from us, and as we can see with Eze (who was discarded, not stolen) one player can make a big pay day.

Huddersfield manager departs
at 16:42 11 May 2024

They should have kept Moore.
He was only getting too many draws as they had injuries. Sacking him was a massive mistake, as they would have survived with him.

Instead, Sheff Wed tore it up and moved forward, and they sunk like a stone.

His goal should have been the goal of the season, even though people voted for Dunnaldo as the winner.
But even better than that, he managed to waste Brums' time and help get them relegated.

So, he did at least two good things in his last season.
L1 beckons.

QPR New Deals

Great states but poor EDB got chucked in when things were tough so, context maybe different.

Can you tell us about Hodge?
I have missed some obvious news, was Hodge injured for the last few months and that's why he was not on the bench or something else? Was he sent back early.

He scored a goal, was on the sub's bench, started another, I think and then disappeared. I do notice that Hodge and Uncle are never in the same place at the same time. hmmmm

Decent player who should play L1 level.
Not big or strong enough or fast enough for Champ.

But he had the skills so, should be okay at L1.
Good luck to him.

Liam Rosenior

Marrti is a better manager than Rosenior.

However, Rosenior did spend the money well, which not all managers do.
Just a little unlucky with injuries, like Delap and so on.

Getting Fabio Carvalho to play in the Champ for Hull, yes Hull! ... is no easy task.

Good manager who got unlucky. Hull may end up the next Brum if they get the wrong manager.
When does Rooney take over Dull?
