Murphy Signs for QPR Wednesday, 10th Aug 2011 10:38 by TWTD.co.uk Former Blues keeper Brian Murphy has signed his two-year deal with QPR, having been on trial with the newly-promoted Premier League side throughout pre-season. TWTD was first to report Rangers’ interest in the 28-year-old back in May after he turned down Town’s offer of a new one-year contract on reduced terms. QPR manager Neil Warnock said: "I am delighted. You need three senior keepers for the Premier League and we've got that now. "Brian has had a super couple of weeks with us and was instrumental in us winning [a pre-season trophy] in Italy. "He is a very capable understudy to Paddy Kenny, so him and Radek Cerny will offer great competition for the coming season.” Murphy added: "It is great to be here. I am really looking forward to the new season and working with the goalkeepers. "Since I have been here I have enjoyed it, and I think I have done OK. The manager and the coaching staff seem pleased, so I am just delighted to have my future sorted out. "I am here to work hard, and anything extra will be a bonus. I want to be in that 18-man squad every week, but I know every player here wants the same thing. "It is going to be a massive season for the club and one that I am looking forward to being a part of."
