| Match report on BBC 20:51 - Feb 14 with 2943 views | Damo1962 | Just read it, and without starting a "Witch Hunt" on JS...he really does himself no favours with that post match response. I just don't think he gets English football. Of course he knows far more about football than I ever will...but I'm just not sure he fits us. That is not his fault, more those who thought he would be a good fit for us. If we keep slipping down the league...he is going to come under scrutiny. | | | | |

| Match report on BBC on 09:29 - Feb 15 with 2145 views | Lblock | Bang on. I don’t think JS or Nourry are right for the club and their approach is at odds with the needs of this Division. If we had the ability of Boro to buy the best and have a big squad then maybe but we have to accept who and where we are and what we need to do to be “successful” at this level. I know Cookie had an iffy game yesterday but how bad would the last few weeks have been without his experience, gnarl, grit and determination? You need to split your team half n half with these types. It is do’able as many teams above us are proving this season just as they have done many many seasons prior. If this club goes into one of its death spirals that it lives then JS would be the last fella I’d look to for guidance out of it. That is a damning indictment and I’d look at the man who appointed him on that. Let’s not go down the fitness and sports science side of things as that’s a whole other thread | |

We’ve been crap since being relegated from the premier league. The owners have tried to balance the books and the reality of doing so is not being competitive. That is our reality. You have to enjoy the odd wins, Birmingham, Leicester, Coventry etc because that’s as good as it gets for us.

You mean " what don't THEY get" I assume?? It's all in my original post. King Warnock Alert / Pre-Cursor --- I am NOT advocating yet another return for Warnock. There simply has to be someone out there along the lines of a Gerry Francis / Neil Warnock who get the place, the level and who the players buy into 100%. If not then a mad fella like Ollie who can inspire. These types would mean the departure of Nourry and his role but maybe a "DoF Lite" for continuity -- if so then an experienced head is the need, not a young idealist. Also - the owners will NEVER "balance the books". They've put this place over a quarter of a billion pounds in debt. We're never coming back from that and they're never seeing that back. They are still here because nobody is taking that on and I'd imagine they're happy to be associated with the club and a very, very, very slim chance it could return to the top. This is what I don't get.... if they want promotion then the culture of accepting medicority needs to go and that starts from the top. I refuse to accept "enjoy(ing) the odd wins" as you put it is good enough for this club, that may be the reality of it but it's a losers stance..... and I'm not aiming that personally at you or mean it as a dig. Any organisations standards are set by the lowest they are willing to accept.

Well arguably the best example of a DoF who knows English football and that kind of manager at the moment are the Marxist Hunters themselves. I can't see them playing the likes of Saito anytime soon.

Obviously, it's nothing to do with those people responding differently to what's said depending on who's saying it - again! [Post edited 15 Feb 21:26]

| Match report on BBC on 21:29 - Feb 15 with 1365 views | stainrods_elbow | What worries me is that one of the key reasons, I think, JS exudes such shoulder-shrugging complacency is because Nourry has his back. That, and the fact that our owners are sleepier than Rip Van Winkle. After his passionless WLS presser post-Blackburn, I'd be getting Vanessa Paradis to call Joe for his taxi. Don’t get me wrong mate, I’m not happy with our mediocracy and certainly not happy when we lose games like Saturday. Do I think the club should and can do better? Yes! I appreciate my comment is annoying to read after Saturday, but it is born out of frustration. Frustration that we can’t see off a sh*t team at home and string a few wins together, especially when the play-offs are in sight. I don’t know who’s to blame anymore. The players? The head coach? CEO? The board? Epstein? Late capitalism? Jude the Cat?! [Post edited 16 Feb 11:33]

I would suggest it’s a very bad idea to spend your night on here like this again.
