| Forum Reply | 🔴 At the end of the day & the season 🙏 at 08:32 9 May 2024
Thanks to everyone who makes Swansea Independent and this forum possible. I am unable to travel to many live games at home these days, so I’ve found this site and forum, WAY WAY ahead of any other, when it comes to news and info. Even though I don’t agree with everything all the time, SI and the posters here are obviously seeing and knowing way more stuff than I can, so I’m grateful to Keith and the other writers and the fellows on this forum for keeping me up to date with (almost) all I need to know, before I hear/read it elsewhere. SI articles are easily the best available for SCFC fans and are always factual, fair and honest, which I love. Thank you all 🙏🙏🙏 |

Southampton tucked us up with him. He was trouble there. Then us. I reckon he did the same at Burnley. Now Millwall. That’s all his clubs |

I think he’s just the Leon Knight type |

We should have taken him when we had the chance a few years ago. Will cost too much for a 29 year old, with likely no sell on profits. Can’t believe we waste £4.5m on Yates and the Uke, when it could be spent on real goal scorers like this fella |

Very telling. LW hinted when they extended Wood’s contract, that we may not see him play again. I said then, that’s the end for him at this club. Seems I may be correct for once. |

Bashir for Wood, is the biggest sign that it’s the last time we will see either at this club. |

Some people, yes. But the “vast majority” is just a fabrication that they like to chuck in the papers as propaganda, in order for us to all hate each other. The VAST majority of benefit claimants are actually legit. And the VAST majority of those are working full time, with such terrible wages, they have to claim benefits like tax credits etc. The amount of fraudulent benefit claims make up something like 0.1% |

I agree that a some people on PIP don’t spend it wisely and some use it for drugs etc, but even those people, most of them should be eligible due to their condition, however they may not totally get that. A lot of homeless people get PIP, and some may not even know why, but have been supported to apply. Just because someone doesn’t use their allowance/award correctly, doesn’t mean they are not eligible or that they shouldn’t get it. They may want to leave the house but not have much support. Either way, just because they choose not to leave the house, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get the money. Maybe they need support with other things to enable them to leave the house or not spend it on drugs? It’s not easy to get PIP, and most applicants will need to go to tribunal. This is not fun and most people who are not eligible won’t take it that far. The amount of people who falsely claim PIP is minimal, compared to those who need it and are eligible, but cannot get it, due to the red tape and obstacle filled application process. I do agree that it’s a messed up system. But it’s much more difficult for everyone than you make out |

People on PIP, don’t use it to stay at home all day. It’s for their independence. To go places and do stuff. |

I’m no mathematician, but I can see there is a problem here. Championship clubs, in order to compete, need a deep squad. With a possible 5 substitutions, we need a capable sub in every position. We are saying that Cullen may not be worth £10k a week, so what will get him to sign, £7k? If we are to pay within our means, that is going to mean we have to cut wages. If we aren’t good enough now, how are we going to be able to improve, while cutting wages? If we need to sign better players, how can we find them on cheaper wages? Doesn’t seem possible. If we want to be more sustainable and our players on less than £10k a week, we need to accept being in league 1. Unless we can compete with wages, how can we compete on the pitch in this division? |

Personally, I think the club will try and keep them all apart from wood. It will be down to the players to accept their reduced contracts in most cases, maybe an improved offer for Culls and Pato. I would really love to see Walsh added to that list, but he’s the one I think they may release, if he doesn’t end this season with a flurry🙏🙏🙏 |

Has a move planned and doesn’t want to get injured to mess that up. Again, I read a little into LWs body language and wording. I don’t see Wood starting another game this season. And why would he if he’s leaving? When asked if we would see Nathan back in the team this year after this injury, Williams said something like “well, he will be eligible for selection, yes.” |

Not fishing mate, but it was simply a question I was wondering about in my head. I have no real opinion either way tbh. I was just wondering. |
