Weather looking pretty grim for the rest of the week, possibly postponed? Just drove up and had a peek through and could see some white sheets covering part of the pitch, not sure if the ground staff were in the process of getting the covers out, if not, I doubt that would be sufficient to ensure the game is on. Not looking good.
With the club promoting this ‘Kids for a Quid’ initiative which they have in the past also, alongside the recent cheaper season tickets, it got me wondering if in a few years we will see a significant increase in home attendances.
Over the past 10-15 years, well since Steve Parkin, the football on show has been significantly better than when I started watching, when Eddie Grey was manager, I forget the year. I’d hazard a guess that home attendances have increased since the late 80’s and it’d be interesting to see if there was a kind of line chart available that’s shows home attendances from the 80’s or before to the present day to view the trend, it might even give us an idea of what we could expect in another 10 or so years.
I’ve just done a google and come across this post from the official site stating that last years average attendance is the highest since the early 70’s, possibly due to the large away followings, but no mention of home attendances. https://www.rochdaleafc.co.uk/news/2019/may/attendancefigures_2018-19/
Anybody know of any websites that would have home attendance figures...?
... can you improve this... (to the tune of ‘something tells me I’m into something good (if that’s what it’s called?))
Woke up this morning with no worry That’s because I’m Rochdale And not bury Bury kicked out of the league And United for us Oh yeahhhhhh Something tells me I’m in to something good.
With Hendo gone, and looking like no Davies, and considering the fact we need to be scoring goals, I think KH could do worse than sacrificing MD from his defensive responsibilities and putting him up front. For me, it was a toss up between him, OR and CA for MOM today, so we would definitely miss him at wing-back, but we need a mobile goal scoring to take Hendo’s spot.
Short and witty, are what your songs need to be to have any chance of being chanted around the COA. See Utd's ode to Lukaku here, to the tune of 'Made of Stone'...
Hi all, just had a message off Mrs KW via instagram, she has just seen my post on there from a few months back regarding his battle with cancer which shows the picture of me and him which is my avatar on here.
She has just informed me that they are about to start battle no 3. She has mentioned that they, as a family, have very fond memories of their time at Rochdale, and to quote 'Rochdale were the best years of our footballing years. Never felt the same about any other club.'
I have directed Mrs KW (Deborah) to this message board, so if anyone feels inclined to offer their support, maybe this thread could be a good start...

Bit of a randomish one. We play 6-a-side every Monday in Milnrow at 6pm, had the same slot for a few years now When it gets to summer we often go outside on big 8-a-side pitch. We are looking for a couple of extra players as have been struggling for 12 every week. We always seem to end up getting 12 but it's not looking great this week.
If anyone fancies a sweat for an hour on Mondays please comment on here or drop me a pm.
It's not overly competitive with ages ranging from 26-40.
If you are looking for a pre-match pint near the ground on Tuesday, Dale fans are possibly best to try the Beehive, the rest are home and ticket only, apparently.
I have a ticket for the home end for a tenner, still debating if to go in there with my Bolton supporting mate, tough decision!
Not read anything that has been posted as been out all day with newbies and Huddersfield fans. But thought I would post... Great effort Dale, first half we were the best team, our closing down was amazing, we never gave them a touch. Every single Dale player fought like their life depended on winning.
It would be easy to analyse what happened, but lets just move on. I thought every player did their bit, gutted that Josh is out for the season, I hope Conrad trains and loses a bit of Terry, he needs to.
Me and my pals had a fab day, they are already asking when we can do it again, everyone noticed how well we played. Our Huddersfield fan mates could not believe how calm and collected we were on the ball all game. They had complete respect for our approach. $ nil was nit a true reflection of the game.
I am looking forward to the league now and we have gained a few fans. Well done, great day.
