Will It Be Sweet Revenge?
Friday, 7th Mar 2014 13:56

City face Wigan in the FA Cup quarter-finals looking for revenge after defeat in last season's final. City gained a measure of revenge with a 5-0 win at the Etihad Stadium in this season's Capital One Cup back in September. After relegation new manager Uwe Rosler has got Wigan right back on track in the Championship after a turbulent time under Owen Coyle.

Team News

Will it be Joe Hart to return between the sticks having been rested for the Capital One Cup final or will Pellegrini give the jersey to Pantilimon who he has used in all domestic cup ties so far?

Matija Nastasic misses the quarter-final with a thigh injury, while Stevan Jovetic is also unavailable as he is struggling with a hamstring injury.

For Wigan Watson is likely to miss the rest of the season after suffering a double leg break against Barnsley three weeks ago, but Rosler has no other major injury concerns.

Key Men

Sergio Aguero has scored eight goals in seven FA Cup appearances so far this season and after his recent setback by injury, he will surely be back amongst the goals as this could be a match he targets. Whether he starts, or comes off the bench Aguero is the kind of striker that always looks like scoring and rarely needs a second invitation.

Ali Al-Habsi will be a key man for Wigan and a good afternoon between the sticks for him could make a whole lot of difference.

Stats

- City have won nine and lost just one of the last 11 meetings,

- Wigan have failed to score in their last seven visits to the Etihad Stadium in all competitions.
