City Need A Win
Friday, 26th Sep 2014 20:06

City will be looking for their first Premier League win in four games while Hull will be looking for an improvement in their defensive performance after shipping nine goals in four games. City won 2-0 on their last visit to the KC Stadium to complete a Premier League double over the Tigers last season. Speaking at today's press conference Pellegrini spoke of the importance of getting back to winning ways in the league. He told The Manchester Evening News;"We went four games without a win until Wednesday (in the Capital One Cup) and although we have not played badly we need to start winning games regularly now, especially at Hull because we cannot drop more points," Pellegrini said in today's press conference.

"For every team, it is not good to drop points at the beginning because you know at the end of the season the title is probably going to be decided by just one point. But I'm not worried about our form."

Team News

Aguero and Silva are both fit again after recovering from knocks while Zabaleta makes a return after his one match suspension. Fernando, Samir Nasri, and Stevan Jovetic are all still injured.

For Hull David Meyler and Robert Snodgrass remain out but the improving form of new signings Mohamed Diame and Abel Hernandez will be good news for Tigers fans.

Stats

Hull’s last two Premier League games have ended 2-2. Only Liverpool (2002) have recorded three in a row.

City’s current tally of three games without a win is their worst run of form since the 2008-09 season.

The two teams first met in October 1909, with the Blues winning that encounter 2-1.

Manchester City’s win at Hull last time out was their first victory there since 1970.
