Pompey confident they can find that missing ingredient
Thursday, 28th Sep 2017 22:52 by pompey-fans.com staff

Joe Gallen is desperate for Pompey to find the consistency that has so far eluded them in their mixed start to League One life.

It's been lose win lose win lose win for the past month or so and the Blues would love to end that hot and cold run with a second victory on the bounce when Oldham visit Fratton on Saturday.

Gallen said the Latics would be a threat despite their lowly position and added: 'It looks like anyone can beat anyone — Oldham won against a Peterborough side who were flying on Tuesday night.

'We’ve followed some decent performances with some poor ones and consistency is a word we hear everyone using. That’s something we have to find if we want to be successful this season, but I’m confident we can do that..

'A new manager can come in and bring a different style and a different philosophy from the previous one. But the players haven’t changed and Oldham have got some dangerous guys in their squad, who we’ve done our homework on.

'There’s a lot of experience and we have to make sure we look after their attacking players to make sure they don’t score.'

Conor Chaplin and Damien McCrory are both still out and Kenny Jackett looks likely to go with the same starting line-up that faced Bristol Rovers for Tuesday's 3-0 Fratton win
