After reporting on Monday that there looked to be about 12,000 tickets left for the game against Manchester City, it seems to be that there is now a late rush perhaps sparked by the win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

On Monday morning barely 24 hours ago at time of writing, a quick look at the Saints ticketing page revealed that there appeared to be around 12-13,000 tickets left in the home sections in the general seating areas.

That would have meant that the game might well have been heading for a crowd that was less than the 20,457 that watched the win over League One Sheffield Wednesday just before Xmas.

However the last 24 hours or so has seen an upsurge in tickets being bought and there now remain less than 8,000 general admission tickets left.

It could be the victory over Palace that has sparked a little bit of optimism in the supporter base, but I suspect the fact that today (Tuesday) is the last day for tickets at the reduced rate of £20 for adults and £5 for children (£22.50 & £7.50 for non season ticket holders) before tickets go up to £25 & £10 also has something to do with it, along with the chance for some of our less frequent supporters as well as children, the opportunity to see some of Manchester City's big guns.

So if you are thinking of going along then you need to buy your tickets by the end of today as on matchday they will increase to the aforementioned £25 & £10.

As it stands we are now heading for a crowd of around 24,000 and if the current sales pattern continues then it could be as high as 27,000.

Especially because NJ thinks we played well at Selhurst Park. First goal thanks to the wind and a second due to the keeper making a forced error

Probably one of those who accused others of a knee jerk reaction after 4 wins in 28 games... And yet after basically 3 league games, you want him out. Can't even stave off the negativity after a win away at a team above us! Laughable stuff... Really laughable. The club doesn't need supporters hurl abuse at and boo a guy after 3 games, you can all jog on... Come on Saints! Come on Nathan!

KriSaint added 13:54 - Jan 11 110 % behind Nathan Jones (NJ). Let's give the guy a chance and see what he can do in the next 6-7 matches. Watching Che Adams putting his arm around NJ as the two of them began to walk off the pitch at Selhurst Park gave me an indication that NJ could be in the proces of getting the players' trust. I hope I'm right.
