Right back Gary Brown has been released by the club after what seems like years spent at Dale for the blond haired right back.

Brown became the second name on the released list following John Doolan's release last week.

His departure from the club was almost inevitable. Despite being on the fringes of the first team for a number of years, his season was cut short early on following a very severe cruciate ligament injury.

He made his debut for Dale back in May 2005, impressing many with his performance at an unorthodox left back position.

He made a total of 43 appearances for Dale during his career. A full look back at Brown's time with Dale will appear on this site in the next few days.
