But we won't see him picked to play because they won't tell us the starting line up, or kick-off times, or the fixture list... |

Happy days, shame we don't know how long he's signed for. |

If FFP disappeared you wouldn’t get clubs fiddling sponsorship deals to get around rules. The Sheffield Wednesday situation was cleared because it was benchmarked against other clubs sponsorship deals and deemed to be in line with them so Sheffield Wednesday hadn’t got any advantage from it. |

This just shows what a mess FFP is and always has been. If Man City want to spend, let them spend. They're only doing what chelsea did before them, and what Blackburn did before them. Bringing in all these rules around spending will just result in what's happened, clubs try to find ways around them. Find another way to protect clubs from going bust, owners depositing into escrow accounts or something like that. I like the idea of aligning spending limits with TV income as the income can't be fiddled, the downside is that they'll still find ways to pay players off the books. |

Eze couldn't have done any more last night, he has to be on the plane. That was TAA best game in CM in my opinion, but was still only ok. He's much better out wide. With our lack of LB options, the only solution I can see is 3 at the back, which would allow us to play to our strengths with all our attacking midfielders. A 3-4-3 (more of a 3-2-4-1 or even a 3-3-3-1) with Rice, Bellingham, Mainoo and Gallagher/Wharton in CM. Gordon, TAA, Bowen, Trippier wide options. Foden, Saka, Palmer & Eze in the 10/support striker role. With the 3 additional places in the squad we could still take Maddison and Grealish plus an extra CF. [Post edited 4 Jun 10:57]

Referees help. For example playing until they score, or mysteriously forgetting the rules/applying a different set of rules for them - e.g. the semi-final vs Bayern. Rather corrupt history too. However, they are an extremely well run club under Florentino Perez which is the main reason for their recent success. |

Interesting to see how my income tax was spent last year. Top 5 areas of spending: 19.8% - Health 19.6% - Welfare 12% National Debt Interest 10.3% - State Pensions 9.9% - Education So 12% of income tax goes on paying national debt interest, not paying off the debt, just the interest. More than we pay towards things like education, defence, etc. |

Someone got paid to come up with that. |

Minority stake, I did read that it was in lieu of a £20m payment for a player to one of the RB clubs. The sponsorship will have to be benchmarked against other clubs in the championship so won't be huge. Depending on who you believe, they'll still have to find anywhere between £75-190m this summer. In other news, Stoke's new badge... |

I couldn't fully enjoy our win at Wembley because I disliked so many of players, and the way the club was at the time, plus the knowledge that we'd make a mess of staying up by spending money on rubbish. Part of me would've been fine with losing as we'd have taken our medicine earlier. Still enjoyed it of course but it wasn't the stuff of dreams. |

If Frank is going to leave Brentford now is probably the time to do it. His stock is high and if they lose Toney they could be in for a struggle next season, they might be on a downward curve anyway. chelsea would be a good move for him as if it works he comes out of it very well and if it doesn't he get s nice pay off with very little if any damage to his reputation whilst gaining experience at a 'big' club. I think McKenna should go to Brighton, it's a step up but with a sensible club where he can gain premier league experience before getting a bigger job further down the line. I can't see anything other than Ipswich getting battered next season as they've made accelerated progress, meaning the foundations aren't there for top level football. Man Utd or chelsea would be stepping into a messy situation and swallow him up, he needs a stronger CV before tackling the egos at that level. Kompany has never impressed me, lots of noise in the media but everything has been stacked in his favour and he's not pulled up any trees. His success seems to be 'plays nice football' and played under Pep, so like Maresca that apparently automatically makes you a top level manager! Plymouth going for Rooney I just can't get my head around. |

I helped coach Sittingbourne U16s for a short while, reckon I could get the Barcelona job the way some of these rather unproven managers are being lined up for big jobs. |
