AFAIK both are out of contract. I'm sure that will be addressed in next 2 weeks.

I feel JCS had been carrying a niggly injury for the last few games, so MC didn't want to jeopardise a possible transfer. If we can get £5m we sell. Not bad for a player who cost us nothing.

Cov getting a lot of possession? Mostly in front of us as our defence is staying so compact.

A couple of kicking errors but otherwise looked solid. So far!

Walsh is a good selection. Salamon on bench. No Begovic.
Cannon , Fox, EDB for Dunne, JCS and Field.

Nice to try some players out and we'll get a better idea if they can contribute next season.

Team selections will be interesting. And will dictate the outcome. No predictions from.me before teamsheets.

Very good. Until last sentence. Then I had to check date in case it was April 1st.

Transfer rumours 2024
at 14:06 2 May 2024

True. But Newcastle have made plain they don't want him. Chances are they WILL do a deal to end his contract.
Wages are more of an issue. He said he had to take a pay cut to join us on loan. Whether he can accept £50k pw to <£10k is unlikely.

Not for me. Given the choice, and assuming we could do deals acceptable to Newcastle and the player, I'd far rather take Hayden. 2 or 3 years younger.

There was a guy who lived 10kms from me, another QPR supporter in 87. He's gone back to UK, now. So just me holding the Fort.
I've had some fun this week with 2 x Leeds supporters.

24 yo winger playing for Beerschot (great name) in Belgium. Had a spell with Stoke. Schalke and St Gilloise also interested.

As their U18s won the FA Youth Cup, there ought to be some real gems, most of whom will never meet PL standards.

Are we capable of going up next season.
at 19:34 30 Apr 2024

Sounds about right.
Reproduce the form since Marti arrived and we'd be top half. But there's likely to be quite a bit of turnover of personnel. And we won't get the sane injury free run.

Let's assess in August.

All 3 seem to fit stated policy. To buy young, develop and sell on.

Maybe 1 in 3 will work out.

A couple of changes would be OK, wholesale changes not.
Be useful to see if Walsh can cut it and worth offering follow up deal. I don't expect us to keep Begovic. Larkeche, Fox for Paal, JCS. I'd like to see EDB and Armstrong getting decent cameos from bench.

Work to do
at 11:11 28 Apr 2024

There is as there ought to be a lot of work to be done before August.
For me, we have to reduce the age of the side. Too many of the first team squad are in their 30s or approaching it. Even the main players are in their mid 20s. Only Armstrong, Larkeche, EDB, Kolli and Kelman are what I would call young.

11 players out of contract gives us a chance to update/refresh. And start building a quality squad that meets our supposed working model.

I havent got many suggestions, although Asgaard at Wigan has always caught the eye. Greg Spires has done some decent analysis and, I hope Andy Belk and his team have as well.
