He wasn't anything to write home about in one season with Watford and lasted 6 months at Reading. However he was still highly regarded as a coach from his time at Chelsea and presumably he learnt a lot from his time as a manager at those clubs.. I think those other clubs developed him so that he was ready for us at that time, in the same way that we have developed Cooper and Martin for their next jobs. Potter I don't think needed development as such, just exposure over here. I suspect Brighton had been watching his progress in Sweden before he joined us. |

I also saw Frank Jr and thought he was living off his father's name and connections and was nothing special. Cooper had seen Gyokeres at age level but in our team he didn't look all that. Maybe a run of games would have been a different story. Don't understand why anyone doesn't want me to scout for them. |

Don't disagree. Burnley didn't have the players to play the way Kompany wanted to play in the top division. We didn't have the players to play the way Martin wanted to play in the championship. If you have the resources of Man City you can pay to get the be players in, other teams have to cut their cloth according to their budget. That's where our signings in the Martinez era were good, however we were looking at a type of player other clubs weren't- ahead of the times. |

I think that you were a bit harsh and that he would benefit from a better balanced midfield. As would others. But is he playing to orders? Probably could do with a rest from time to time but we don't have the quality in depth to do that if he is fit and ready to play. |

Just 3 wins in last 13 games and only 8 at home in the season. Harsh to be sacked when finishing 7th but the owner clearly believed that they should have made the play offs. Time will tell. |

Not interested in who comes down, more interested in what we do. I think that is how Ipswich treated the season. |

Sorry if my point wasn't clear. There is no such thing as a free lunch similarly no such thing as a free transfer. As you state not paying a transfer fee means that what would have been paid to a club can now be paid to a player in wages and/or signing on fees. |

I think the subject is a difficult one. He is from Derry and it is clear that events from 1972 are still an open sore for some parts of the community there. None of us can know how we would react if we came from that background. I would just hope that I could act a lot more maturely than he does if I was in his shoes. |

From the official site. Perhaps the quotes attributed to Williams could be relevant for whatever reason. Luke Williams says he is excited about the opportunity the summer holds for Swansea City as the current campaign nears its conclusion. The 2023-24 season has proved a challenging one for the Swans, with head coach Williams being at the helm since his January appointment. Attempting to implement a new style of play halfway through a gruelling Championship schedule has not been easy, but there have been signs of encouragement, particularly in the recent improvement in home form and away wins against the likes of Hull City and Sunderland But, while the on-pitch focus remains firmly on the final three games of the current season, Williams is positive about what strides can be made during the summer and a first full pre-season in charge. “I am excited, we have an opportunity,” he said. “We all have to be really excited about trying to get a really competitive group of players together and having a clear identity and way of playing. “We will see how far that takes us. That has to be exciting for everyone. “We have to be accurate in the work we do as a group of people, in terms of assessing the players and the personalities we are going to have here. “We want to make sure the people we have here are the right fit.” |

There's no assumption that the PSG and Barcelona players refused to give an interview to the Spanish TV station Movistar plus because of the remark. There is also no assumption that the pundit that made the remark was sacked for it. The only person that knows what he intended by his remark is German Burgos. Whatever he meant by it, there is no assumption that the players of both clubs found it offensive. |

I don't think that's how the PSG and Barcelona players saw it. |

I think it happens in places other than London and that the windscreen cleaners are different nationalities. |
