you seem to have fotgotten that in his first season Martin was given Piroe Obafemi Patterson Walsh Natcham Flynn Downes Ethan Laird .....yet fokjs say he wasnt backed
Good article though it was a little unfair on Luke at 36% win rate it is better that Martin achieved in his first season here and he had input to some pur player acquisition. Yes in fairness Luke needs to have some time and a preseason. He needs support....the club showed support to Duff last summer with what an £8M spend though I think we will agree not all if it was well spent....let's hope things are better done this time round. I agree some strange selections yesterday....was Luke under.pressure from Arsenal and Chelsea would there have been financial penalties....I think we could see why Patino hasn't been used much...his agent kist be good to blow that Juventus rumour. Fir me though it seems the knives are out for Luke already yet many of fans were saying his previous boss needed several transfer windows and time....yet it seems that despite arriving at the club in turmoil he is already being over crtiqued
playing devils advocate...he does say arrival in Swansea so is he talking about as to when he actually physically moved here . Whilst he was in post from May his impact on these recently released accounts would have been limited to at most 3 months and the budget for the 2022/23 season would have been assigned back in the late spring of 2022 long before he came along. His impact will be seen in the accounts released this time next year. If you want to be pedantic he would have had an influence on player and manager acquisition so there maybe some transfer fees and maybe one moths sages for players and staff though I would have thought transfer fees etc are amortised through the year rather than being posted as a single hit but I could be wrong. I guess the big deal about this is the communication and how it appears Coleman is distancing himself from the numbers which in fairness though he would have had very little effect....it would be good to see a monthly breakdown and see what the spend was for the last quarter ie May June and July following the announcements in May
it came across as negativity....I would agree some season ticket holders have given up....as Richard O has said ee have lost supportes since our drop from the PL also some fans didn't return post covid we also have a cost of living crises these will all have contributed to some non renewals it's not all down tocthe state of the club as your post inferred. There will always be a hard core that will continue to tien up and support....and I get it some are fed up with the state of the club both on and off the pitch bit that is not the reason for all non renewals
So true Keith the likes of Curt and Leighton Phillips ended up selling insurance some other pros ended up as postmen Gary Emmanuel who played for Birmingham in the old 1st Division before ending his playing days with us was our postman until recently...Roger Freestone was a DHL driver today's pros won't be faced with that
it's amazing we get a draw away to a top six side and the forum is as quiet as the grave I bet had we lost thos would be a 12 pager by now.....the doom mongers must be well distressed tonight
Great performance and result today. It’s amazing to think that should we win against Milwall we will finish the season in a higher position and just one point behind the total achieved by the vanilla tasting flower pot in his first season and a better goal difference. Despite the managerial changes and injuries it seems we will do no worse than Martin achieved in his first season. Let's hope the club back Williams in the summer.
Especially when Naughton was available like Cabango he has his critics but as we saw recently he is still an asset at this level. Does make you wonder sometimes about the thought processes if our managers/coaches
