JWP needs to play for a club where the onus is on keeping the ball. He and Romeo were brilliant receiving the ball in tight situations and maintaining possession. Sadly we had nobody with any real creativity to make the defence splitting passes. JWP has been utterly committed to Saints and his work ethic is brilliant without the ball but he needs to find the right team that understands his strengths and weaknesses. Too often for Saints he has had to carry a very average team. I hope he goes to the right club and has a couple of fantastic seasons. He is brilliant with set plays and with with quality strikers who both gamble and convert, I think his best days are to come and he should go with our best wishes. COYS. | | | |

Who’s the next player your going to be non stop complaining about next season when he’s gone btw? As we all know how obsessed you are with Prowse, but what’s gonna happen when he’s gone? Is it Bednerak, Livermento, Bazunu or some new singing we’ll make, that you’ll be going for next.
But either way, Prowse had been a great player for us and has left some great memories for the club, and he’ll be forever remembered, not just for his set pieces, with him being easily the best free kick taker in the world right now! As the one thing I hope we can do by the end of the season is to get Prowse to at the very least match Beckham record whilst he’s still with us.
But also for how loyal he has been, as well as how he’s always give his all and was always a very consistent and reliable player that never had any fitness, injuries or suspension issues and is yet another great product of our academy. So whether he stays, goes, retires etc… I’ll wish him all the best and he’ll always have many fans respects at St Mary’s. [Post edited 11 May 2023 21:35]

11 England Caps and 2 goals is testament to a guy that has at times carried a pretty awful side and been asked to play in a wide variety of roles.
He lacks pace and little guile and maybe the big 7 will look elsewhere but he's a player who's proven his worth in the Premier league. | | | |

Totally. No one can say JWP never gave his all for the club and his set piece goals have given Saints fans some joy in what has been a bleak period. I woulds obsession is borderline stalking but his posts criticising JWP minutes before a brilliant free kick have given us all something to laugh about. Good luck to JWP wherever he ends up. Call me naive … (yes you are stupidly naive)…
But I have a sneaking feeling that JWP will only move if a club comes along who can guarantee him 100% first team football and I’m not sure there are too many around (that he’d fancy going to) who can.
And looking at it from his POV, OK he may have to take a pay cut if he stays.
But…
Assuming we get a new manager who can convince JWP he has a plan and knows what he is talking about, and as a result can persuade Prowsy he can take us back up again, just think what he would become in the City. Forget about Matt LeT, ARISE SIR JAMES….

My issues are:
1) He is captain but not a leader - we are desperately short of leadership on the pitch (as well as off it!);
2) How many goals have we scored from corners over the last couple of seasons? My feeling is that for a dead ball specialist we score very little from corners.
He's not a talisman (like Le Tiss) but he has been a valuable servant for us and whatever happens we should wish him well if he leaves and support him if he stays. | | | |

JWP isn’t a Defensive Midfielder.
He has been played out of position because Diallo isn’t good enough for that role and Romeu left leaving only Lavia as a ‘destroyer’.
If he leaves I wish him the best.
