Don't let the headline get in the way of the facts.
The extra cash is available if they need to provide laptops etc to their staff because they now need to all work remotely. It is not a salary. If they don't need it all they can't spend it. And they are saving almost as much by no longer travelling to London and back every week. I know lots of companies that have bought laptops for their staff to work at home but I am not criticising any of them.
I am quietly confident that the Govt will do something pay wise to thank the NHS staff when this is over. They have pumped billions in to buy equipment, ventillators, clothing, extra beds etc and whilst we would all have hoped it had gone smoothly, you can't argue that this PM has held back on the money front. |  |
