I was just trying to put my thoughts into words

Luckily I don't have to.

The report is word perfect

Yes the guilt was mentioned by someone in one of the programmes I watched. By parents and the survivors.

Children were always playing outside and then there was nothing.

One survivor couldn't mention his friends name who died, and you could see he still struggled today. ( I think it was on the Newsnight special)

Also

Families that were suffering didn't share their feelings at the time as they knew everyone was struggling as well and didn't want to add to the grief.

The comment was ,many had suffered a loss, or knew someone who had.

Just typing this is emotional, my thoughts don't even come close to what they all went through and never went away.

Fully understand what you're saying.

No words can explain what I was thinking while there.

One thing that I can say that hit me.

It was so quiet and peaceful with only the sound of a few birds, the complete opposite of the events 60 years ago.
Went with my two sons and apart from a few words we just walked around in silence.
As I've said not enough words can explain the feelings on the day but the general feeling was

It was all so avoidable.

I heard 'Come on you irons'

Was there two shouts or a Swansea fan trying to play the fool.

Which brings me to my thoughts

Mistake or not, it was one shout that was made worse by hundreds? shouting.
These people are also disrespecting the minutes silence - just wait to the end
Now he or others might have carried on or stopped by people by him only.

Secondly why do people arriving when the minute silence is going on think it's so important for them to carry on to get to their seats? Can't they wait and let others continue showing respect.

They are a hard watch.

I'm glad I finally went but as I said above even though I knew the number of children lost it was still heart breaking to see so many of the ages one after another.

I'm ashamed to say that this year was the first time I visited The Garden of Remembrance and the Cemetery.
We left earlier when travelling down for the Burnley game and spent an hour there.
To see so many names, some from the same family is heartbreaking.
I've heard the words seen the films but to walk along and see the ages 7,8,9 does bring a lump to the throat and a tear to the eye
On IPlayer there are programmes one on BBC2 and one on S4C (subtitles available)
Both excellent in differing ways and a very difficult watch
Just to add both locations were immaculate and peaceful.

I knew a fair bit but the BBC2 programme Aberfan: The Village That Fought Back
triggered back the memory, and it was, and still is, disgusting how they were treated for years. Even now, watching it I became more and more angry

The S4C Alex Jones: Un diwrnod yn Aberfan highlights the more personal aspect of the day and long term affects

After Eom’s reported racist incident

All my working life has been in England.
I must have missed the bit about being treated like dirt.
I have good English friends (I had to say that so that I can't be racist towards them)
Not once have I been looked down on, always treated as an equal even though people knew I was Welsh first and proud.
Of course there was banter but no malice intended.
Football banter does not reflect life in general.
It's sad that some, not many, cannot accept that

As per the article I can’t see anything in it

If you were running a club that could be looking at a relegation fight, that could cost you millions would you appoint a coach with limited experience

Exactly

Especially as over time words change their meaning or have extra meaning.

Words shouldn’t hurt it’s the intent of the words that can

Also Aberdeen fans get called it in Scotland
I've had it many times in my working life, is it a bit stupid yes, but I gave as much as I got.
Most people can recognise banter from out and out racism.

It's all about intent

Welsh Labour M4 Relief Road
at 10:37 19 Oct 2026

We always use the HoV and the 50mph stretch is nonsensical.

From the A40 Hardwick Island to before the Clydach Gorge is 70MPH in more of a built up area.
Then 50MPH to the Brynmawr turn off, where the chance of anyone trying to cross the road is next to zero
It can't be down to safety, and not for the environment either as vehicles struggling to keep to 50 seem to cause more emissions with the constant change of gears.
That's on the way up coming back down is even worse where it's constant breaking even in lower gears.
Strange that other areas of the A465 are 70

Swans v Hammers : The East Stand remembered, January 1981
at 15:10 16 Oct 2026

Met up with a couple of ex work colleagues on Wednesday and spoke about time is flying by.

Now this reminder 45 years ago.

I was there then, and there tomorrow with my two sons

Hope for a better result than back then

Football Shirts - Again
at 10:01 8 Oct 2026

It's been highlighted that many times over the years, but still it keep happening.

Total greed.

I just hope our club isn't involved in similar, but looking at the price who knows?

If there is a market it will keep happening

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/fo

"Research published last year suggested that, of a typical £85 shirt, £8.50 covers fabric, sewing and shipping, £37.45 goes to the retailer, £16.25 to the manufacturer, £9.50 on marketing and £13.60 in VAT."
