A summer of change?
at 17:36 16 Feb 2019

Depending on which division we're in obviously, I suspect we could see major changes in the summer. Here's a list of the players who are out of contract:

Matt Done
Brad Inman
Jim McNulty
Aaron Morley (May have an extension clause)
Kgosi Ntlhe
Oliver Rathbone (May have an extension clause)
Aaron Wilbraham
Jordan Williams
Jimmy Keohane
Brad Wade (May have an extension clause)

Which only leaves the following contracted:

Calvin Andrew
Daniel Adshead
Callum Camps
Ryan Delaney
Stephen Dooley
Matty Gillam
Ian Henderson
Josh Lillis
MJ Williams
Ryan McLaughlin

If I'm being honest, regardless of division, I'd be releasing most of the players out of contract with the exception of Rathbone. Done could possibly do a job in League Two but hasn't been the same player since we re-signed him and has done nothing to justify being offered a deal.

Obviously, we have no idea about Jimmy Keohane but I wouldn't lose sleep over any of the others leaving.

If my list is incorrect, by all means pull me up on that.

Any one else have any thoughts?

End of season do - £65!!
at 17:59 19 Mar 2018

Utterly ludicrous in my book. Bollocks to a meal and all that stuff.

Very good chance this will be the end of season do after a relegation from League One!

Genuinely hope nobody goes in the hope that the club finally take a step back and look at the decisions they make!

And they wonder why I think "Team Rochdale" is dead.
Papa Chaff Coach trip to Millwall
at 15:26 16 Jan 2018

I'm running a coach down to Millwall and due to a lack of numbers i'm opening it up to you lot on here.

Basically, the trip is an annual event which is dedicated to my Dad who used to drives minibuses all over the country to watch Dale. So we set aside one away trip a year, as close to the date of his passing as possible, Millwall is the trip this year.

I've got around 25 seats spare due to people backing out etc. The plan is to set off from Rochdale Town Hall at 7am and heading into London for a good old drink before making the very short tube trip to the ground for the game. Then we'll be getting picked up from the ground after the game.

Should be a top day, with a bit of football inbetween!

If you're interested, please send me an email at or PM me on here.

Shame for the guy, wonder if he actually knows how well thought of he is at Rochdale.
FAO Goldbond agents
at 11:20 6 Nov 2017

You should have all had the newsletter but this is just a gentle reminder that there's a Goldbond workshop on to try and improve the Goldbond for both the club and it's agents. This is being held in the Main Lounge from 5:30 onwards on Tuesday 7th November prior to the Checkatrade Trophy match against Blackburn Rovers.

There will be directors in attendance who will be asking for agents' views on what can be done to improve it and what else might act as an incentive for agents and members etc.

Those attending will get free access to the match as well after the workshop and I'm led to believe there will be food available.

Hogan money
at 14:11 31 Jan 2017

Now that we're getting a massive amount of money for a club our size, what improvements would you want to see round the club? Squad improvements? Facilities? Contracts? Cheaper season tickets?

Personally, I'd love us spend a bit on the following:

* Get the ground painted, not just a bit but all around the ground, said it before but if you're looking at Spotland coming from Ings Lane and down Sandy Lane way then it looks a rusty mess. Get it sorted and get it spruces up, preferably in the clubs colours!

* Sort the Five a-side pitch out and turn it into an investment. Do leagues run on there anymore? The pitch on there is a disgrace to be honest, it's very dangerous and has just been left to rot since it was built many many years ago. Needs fixing definitely, I wouldn't want my lad playing on that surface.

* Seats inside Spotland need cleaning and in the mainstand, I'd go as far as to suggest we replace the red seats with which ones, it makes no sense to have red ones in there.

* How much were the Trust quoted for a scoreboard? If it's now affordable, it would be very nice to finally see one, which would also bring sponsorship opportunities surely?

That too much to ask?
Favourite songs of 2016
at 19:55 23 Dec 2016

A thread away from football, what do you reckon folks, top 5 tunes of the year?

My own selection is very mainstream, it's an age thing.

1. Catfish & The Bottlemen - 7 (Great album from a band that continue to impress me)

2. The Courteeners - The 17th (This is the one gem on an otherwise absolutely garbage album.

3. Twenty One Pilots - Stressed Out (Not normally my sort of thing but this is ace)

4. Kings Of Leon - Waste a Moment (Best thing they've done for years)

5. Chainsmokers - Closer (I know, I know, am going through an early mid-life crisis!)

Honourable mentions:

Catfish & The Bottlemen - Twice
Chainsmokers - Don't Let Me Down
Charli XCX - After The Afterparty
Twenty One Pilots - Heathens
Blossoms - Charlemagne
Viola Beach - Boys That Sing
David Bowie - I Cant Give Everything Away

Over to you lot...

Question regarding the Carlsberg Lounge
at 17:49 3 Oct 2016

My 3 year old lad is mad about this programme but has his season ticket with me in the Sandy Lane, does that mean he can't access the Carlsberg lounge to take part in this?
