Fundraiser - 10th February
at 00:35 11 Feb 2022

That went well!

Great sum of money raised (over £600 and counting...) and a good time had by all.

The first fundraiser 'proper' for the campaign. The passion, generosity and absolute determination by Dale fans, and townsfolk who don't follow us but believe in our cause was amazing. One lady who doesn't follow us donated by visiting https://www.crowdjustice.com/case/keep-rochdale-afc-fan-owned/ .

The generosity and support from Bamford Bowling Club was superb, and they are happy to host another quiz night for us if required. If you were there or just enjoy a quiz, they host a quiz night every Thursday at 8:30 PM - another fine, supportive venue we need to support back, like The Cem.

The people who donated treasured memorabilia as auction items, the people who didn't want change from their entry fees, the quiz match winners who donated their cash prize back to the campaign, our half-time draw ticket seller who did a brilliant job selling raffle tickets, the young ball boy who donated his signed match ball from the Spurs game especially as he cares so much for his club, our club. The people prepared to put money in on the night. Thank you so much. We won't lose this battle. WE WILL WIN THE WAR.

If you are coming by car tonight, please be aware of the parking restrictions on Bamford Precinct, and that the tiny parking space at Bamford BC is for staff only.

The final item up for auction tonight relates to the game almost four years ago where we held Tottenham Hotspur to a 2-2 draw live on the BBC. This signed ball has been donated by one of the ball boys from that game who got several signatures, including Cannon, Camps, Andrew and more (even Brendan Moore!), including that of goal scorer Steve Davies (19).

If you are attending the quiz tomorrow, don't worry if you don't have a team of 4, there are people turning up solo on the night and we can form teams then.

Next shirt up for auction is...

So as well as the quiz (cash prize to the winners), auction and buffet, there will be a round of "Play Your Cards Right"(cash prize if you win) with the club's giant cards. Buy a raffle ticket during the interval and see if you get chance to guess the cards.
