Personally, I love the guy. He genuinely loves this club, he always gives his all for the shirt and he scraps. He doesn't sulk or look miserable like Adams does at times or Sulemana. But I accept there are question marks over his ability in the Premier League. He can make mistakes but haven't all the players? I think he should definitely be a part of our squad. |

Whatever anyone says, and I have doubted the system at times, this season has been a successful season with lots of highs. The players seem to love the manager, he has galvanised the squad and the club. The atmosphere against West Brom and the celebrations at Wembley, who would have thought that, this time last year, after relegation and 3 failed managers? Southampton are back in the Premier League and RM deserves huge credit. |

The point the OP is making, from what I have read, is that we are now in the PL. Edozie, Mara, Larios, Charles, Djenepo and the like are not good enough for the PL. Adam Armstrong is a proven goal scorer, albeit in the Championship. We will need to bring in some real quality to survive in the PL. And by that I mean, proven goal scorers, proven defenders, not ones who could be good in a few years time. The PL is far too unforgiving for that. |

Re 1, I agree that the atmosphere was different in comparison to that hectic, boisterous, tense evening game at St Mary's v West Brom. It was more measured but the singers who normally sit together at St Mary's were spread out across Wembley. Mixed in with families and people who don't often go.
However, the celebrations at the end were incredible, full of passion and joy all around me. Some of the singing in unison of OWTS during the game was loud and impressive when it happened. Our whole end full of flag waving Saints fans was impressive too. I also thought there were obvious nerves and myself included, we were too worried to celebrate, nervously waiting in anticipation, thinking that the equaliser would come! Wembley is a wonderful stadium and what a picture when it's full of fans.
Re 4, we drove up and every other car was full of Saints fans, flags and scarves hanging out the window and tooting of horns every 5 minutes or so. Parked in Ruislip, 15 minute tube journey to Wembley was easy and painless. What were the trains like in the end to Waterloo? Were there fans queuing outside stations, were fans crammed onto platforms and standing up on trains?
We stayed at Wembley for an hour after the game to let the crowds die down, then straight back onto the tube back to Ruislip. Stopped at Fleet services on the way back, was wonderful to see the place packed with Saints fans, sporadic singing from corner to corner of we are Premier league and OWTS.
And finally for me, I thought again, just like against West Brom and at Elland Road, Saints looked like a well organised, impressive outfit. Back in the big time. Well done Saints and we look forward to next season. [Post edited 27 May 22:09]

Great post. I was chatting to a guy, born and bred in Southampton, not been here years, who travelled over from the US, said he just couldn't miss the occasion, flights either side of the game. Not a clue how he got tickets, but he was ecstatic for his home club. Lots of families, witnessing what Saints are all about. A wonderful day, and like you proud of this city and my club. |

Playing 5 at the back has made us into a tight and efficient unit. This "style of player" enabled us to beat Leeds 3 times. We destroyed a good West Brom team at St Mary's.
Managers need time. It's been the most exciting season I can remember. Just remember what we had before RM arrived: relegation, 3 managers in a year, players all wanting to leave, record defeats, a club in chaos. Credit where it's due. RM has got us promotion, and let's see what next season brings. We have a plan, a way of playing.
Full credit to Russel Martin, I am pleased for him and fully behind him. He's done the job he was asked to do and in style. 76 since the last time we won at Wembley in a final. Thank you Russel and the team for a wonderful day yesterday. It's been a long time coming. [Post edited 27 May 13:42]

A very special day. Winning at Wembley will live long in the memory. Promoted to the Premier League, our fans were magnificent, now absolutely exhausted. What a season, will never forget it. Back in the big time where we belong. |

We all want to win, that's for sure. The atmosphere at St Mary's against West Brom was something I have never experienced before. It was really intense and our fans wanted it that night. I know our fans will be full on Sunday. [Post edited 23 May 18:28]

Like many, I am totally numb towards all of them. Labour according to the polls are going to form the next government but what are their policies? And what are the policies of any of them?
Can anyone tell me, which party:
-will enable me to see a doctor without a 3 month wait and completing online forms? Will I be able to just turn up and ask to see a doctor under Labour?
- will enable me to see a dentist?
- will get rid of the traffic outside my house bringing everything to a standstill every morning and every evening. Like, what are they actually going to do? Where can I find a direct answer?
- will accept that a woman is a woman and a man is a man?
- will stop telling me I should be doing more for the environment, when they are travelling around in expensive cars and private jets and meeting world leaders with caviar and champaign?
- Will recognise that if I can't go to a bar for tax free drinks at my place of work, why should they?
- Will understand that spending billions on paying for 5 star hotels for asylum seekers is not sensible whilst we have British people homeless on our streets?
- Will start installing respect and discipline onto the streets, in our prisons, in our schools?
- Will stop knife and gun crime, instead of turning up after the event?
- Will accept that you can't keep building houses, without also building new schools, new doctors surgeries, new dentists. Plenty of policies about new housing, nothing in the small print about new infrastructure.
Any answers? It might help me who to vote for. |

I don't have a clue what will happen on Sunday. I think we have a decent chance. We beat West Brom quite impressively under pressure. We have every chance. But Leeds are good side on their day. Obviously I hope we do it, but not a clue whether we will or won't. |

I think Leeds have made their supporters go through a much more rigorous process. It's not that they arn't selling out, it's just that they are only selling to certain sections at a time. Loads of Leeds fans want tickets l, but can't get them as they haven't been to five games etc. |

This is absolute rubbish. A few defensive, worried Leeds fans (who are feeling threatened by Saints as a massive rival) put out a few tweets that their fans would be buying some of our tickets as Leeds are so massive.
The only chance of a few getting in our end, is if the few who got in the home end when we played Leeds at St Mary's, then also bought a membership the day after we beat West Brom. I can assure you all that SFC staff are wise to this! They know that if a fan only attended the Leeds game this season and have never attended St Mary's before in their life, then they buy a membership a day after the semi final, that they are Leeds and their ticket would have been cancelled.
As always a few might sneak in by buying tickets on ebay, the black market or through friends but likewise, a few Saints might be in the Leeds end too. The Saints end sold out to season ticket holders and members and was only on general sale for about an hour. They had to have been to one game this season too. If it was the Leeds game and a membership was bought the day after the semi final, the ticket office would be investigating for sure. So no, there won't be groups of Leeds in our end! |

Don't worry about not getting the email. The automated email system is back logged and in some cases it has crashed. It's just because of the sheer number of emails being sent on just a couple of days. I had to ask for my email to be sent directly (rather than automated) as I did not get the automated one and still haven't! If you have an order number and the right money has come out of your account you have your tickets. [Post edited 20 May 20:53]
