I know we want to burn the witch but unless they're muscle injuries, it's hard to mitigate beyond not playing so many games in such a short space of time at the start of the season. If most medical departments are having nightmares, is it really all the medical departments? Or is the schedule and the intensity? I lean towards the later.
That does seem most likely. This season's ridiculous raft of games so early in the schedule, interspersed with extended breaks, is likely to be the main culprit. Other clubs in this division do have similar issues, naturally those with deeper squads (and, more money) should benefit most. We'll probably suffer worse than some, and less than others, as usual. On the bench, so he's just being rested I guess.
The selection is definitely 'a point we have, a point we hold ' type of deal. If we're behind at HT I imagine changes will come pretty quick. |
