Congratulations to Hornets who repeated our last game heroics to avoid the drop, and by winning away to what is traditionally one of their bogey teams.

Champions and a trophy, something Dale and their manager have yet to achieve despite having bigger crowds/budgets. They will enjoy hosting the likes of Sunderland and (probably) Bolton next year.

Newsletter
at 20:44 24 Oct 2016

I receive weekly e mails from Fleetwood, Bolton Wanderers, QPR and a few others but until today I had never received anything from the Dale. But today I received for the first time a newsletter from the club. I have had no e mail contact with the club for several years. I did purchase a Wembley ticket on line and around the same time bought stuff from the club shop on line. I dont think this happens spontaneously so it seems like someone is now trying to actively use the contacts the club has in various forms.

Things are looking up! Good work whoever is responsible.

Season ticket payment plans
at 18:26 21 Sep 2016

Across the pond at the moment and just came across a Canadian Football League team's season ticket marketing for next year.

Four different payment plans for season tickets.

Pay total by December 8th
Pay in 3 monthly installments over next three months
Pay in 6 monthly installments from December 8th
Pay 30% December 8th 70% March 1st

All involve the same total amount, no administration fees, no interest payments, no loans.

Each plan has freebies associated with it and the earlier you complete payment the more freebies but the price of the ticket is exactly the same.

Of course there must be millions of reasons why we couldn't do something similar.

This is what I call marketing - I hope the link works - minor league baseball team in Buffalo NY.

They play 140 games a season (70 at home), 7 days a week from April to September.

Reciprical arrangements for ST holders
at 21:10 22 Apr 2016

I might be dreaming but seem to recall there was some sort of arrangement whereby season ticket holders of Dale, Biffos and that other lot got a discount for admission to the other clubs games when they were playing away.

Does anyone know the details or, if I am dreaming, does anyone know a good treatment for dementia!

Liverpool climb down
at 21:10 10 Feb 2016

"This plan shall be in effect for both the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons. For the next two seasons, LFC will not earn a single additional pound from increasing general admission ticket prices."

Great to see fan power and good for the scousers for standing up and being counted. However I smell a rat in the quite precise language about 'general admission ticket prices'. I expect the new stand will be divided into 'general admission' areas and 'club seats' or something like that with the club seats being ........77 quid maybe.

FIFA elections
at 15:33 23 Jan 2015

"Fifa says it will be unable to confirm who is standing for election against president Sepp Blatter for "some time". The deadline for nominations is 29 January, but Fifa electoral committee member Dominico Scala has said it will only start assessing candidates then. Candidates must pass an anti-corruption test before they can be confirmed."

What sort of an anti corruption test can it be if Septic Bladder passes it?

Surely they can announce the names of those nominated immediately with their candidacy being 'subject to satisfying the anti-corruption provisions'.

Everything FIFA does is surrounded in secrecy and I think we all know why. There is more validity in a North Korean election.
