I was referring more to social media, where he seems to have been made the scapegoat and target of sneering comments for our poor start. Reminds me why I should avoid it, plenty of condescending people on there as well. It may transpire he's not up to it any more but at least he's not sulking and I just think the guy has been a solid pro for us and worthy of more respect, apologies if that's being sentimental. Against one of the supposedly better teams in the division as well, Walsall are unbeaten albeit having drawn four of their games. Something to build on and will give the younger players a boost. Similar to the Colchester game although we couldn't see that through, it might be the template for the season unless Watson can solve the conundrum of how to make us more of an attacking threat.
Good to see EEL on the sidelines dishing out his fair share of encouragement and cajoling, I feel he's come in for a bit of unfair stick in some quarters lately. |

The last free agent centre half I can recall signing for us was Paul McShane and he turned out to be serviceable. Can't fault the pedigree but it's a real concern how much he has left in the tank at 37. Just read on his Wikipedia page that he trained and played in preseason games at Notts County so if he's not ready to go straight into the team he surely won't be far off. |

Mani had plenty of games last season when he was completely anonymous as well, they were just glossed over because of his goals. It's strange because for the first time this season on Tuesday it looked like Watson had lit a fire under him by dropping him and he did put in a bit of a shift but yesterday was a cakewalk for Beckles. Can we afford to drop him long term when we've very little else? I quite like Brown and it at least looks like he's trying. Mani definitely isn't captain material but again who is? |

Maguire is 2 months into a 2 year deal, how much would it cost to pay him up? The Ogdens have always stated they're not going to throw money at the club, are they prepared to write off possibly £100k or more? And then shell out for yet another new player? Most free agents are out there for a reason, they're injury prone, old (by football standards) or just deemed not up to it any more. It's likely one or two gems have slipped through the net but having already 'rolled the dice' on the likes of Maguire and Sherring, do you really trust Watson to root them out if there is? |

At some point won't the board start to question it if Watson wants to bring in yet more players after already being generously backed? He bought in Sherring (who you've written off after a handful of games), what makes you think he'll get it right this time? Have you got any names for this hypothetical centre half who fits all your criteria? |

What changed so much from Tuesday then, when we played with confidence and purpose and everybody seemed galvanised (even Mani put in a shift)? Was it just the fact we managed to get our noses in front? Are Shrews just terrible? We were in the game until the second goal today and then the surrender was pathetic, due to our lack of experience and any leaders. I would echo others fears that Ramming and Wilson just aren't up to it but even they did well Tuesday. |

There doesn't seem to be a lot of choice but to stick with them and just accept they'll blow hot and cold, at least until some of the injured return. Wilson has been especially poor today. |

Watson will have a few selection headaches when everyone's available but you can't fault anyone tonight, they all put in a shift. Wasn't sure about Brown but he's looking like a real handful, great ball for Smith's goal. |

All the BHA fans I've spoken too are very high on him but almost to a man they've commented that he's very good going forward but still a work in progress defensively...which I'm thinking is probably the opposite of what we need?

What would the financial implications be of canning a manager and presumably all of his staff less than half a dozen league games into a 3 year contract? As well as then bringing in a new manager and staff who'll want different players, freezing out those on generous contracts who are already here? Granted we might be able to move some of those on but we also might be stuck with some picking up a good wage for doing sod all.
The Ogdens have been a Godsend for this club, but they're not a bottomless pit. |

I thought Toney did OK seeing as he hasn't had much game time but he's not a long term option.
We'll never know what would have happened on Wednesday had Tuchel carried on attacking, maybe Argentina would still have overrun us and people would be complaining about that? He really was damned if you do, damned if you don't. Truth is, we're still some way off being a top tier team and had bumbled our way through to the semi finals anyway. I'm happy with third place even if in the grand scheme of things it doesn't mean much.
Not bothered about the final, have no real bitterness towards Argentina. Just hope it's another good game. |

Maybe I'm too cynical but what else was he going to say? Not saying he didn't love his time here but a perceived better opportunity opened up and he has taken it and we need to move on a get behind the new appointment, whoever it may be. |
