but there's no contact with their player! Fair point that Mitchell's foul was a 50:50 ball but it was a red mist response from him to losing the earlier encounter and sliding in towards another player (& therefore out of control) is a card these days every time [Post edited 2 Apr 16:55]

Of course lots of ifs but it was Mitchell failing to holds the ball up (because he's also lightweight) that actually led to him seeing red (in every sense). 2 footed sliding tackle is a card every day in the modern game. Agree about the early play being more forward passes (though most went astray). What's the alternative to Mather - well the player who replaced him today is a good start. Agree EEL good (and Sassi had a much more solid game than last time) and Gordon was excellent - as he has been for a while but disagree about Hayes today - thought he overcarried the ball and almost always finished up losing it. |

but how frustrating that it takes going down to 10 men to get that team to play with some bite and enthusiasm - if we'd done that all season our squad is good enough for a play-off place. Agree it all changed with Keohane's introduction and from then on we won our battles all over the park and dominated the last 20mins. ps Mather is just what you don't want in the NL - too lightweight and not enough effort. |

Absolutely - the Dale Community Sports Trust's Community Cohesion Officer post of 2018/9 was a great initiative - would be good to see a repeat. |

Agree about Gilmour - our most consistent performer all season. Not sure about the link with East, think sometimes they are in the same space, we look better when one of them is more advanced (preferably East) but too often today there was no short pass on for the (under instruction) CBs - usually Clayton's role? After a horrendous start Sassi settled and second half made a couple of forays over the half way line. |

Some good points 49th but beware of flapping that old red rag at the bull that is the OP - after 14 years of failure no Tory supporter can countenance yet another slip twixt.... |

but turned down by whom - Chris Dunphy or the BoD? Seem to recall no details of the potential investment were made public? |

As I remember it, Chris Dunphy had negotiations with Altman and Marcelli but I'm not aware of any involvement of the then BoD in those - what a pity those negotiations weren't put into the public arena (and with the Trust) - feels like we were in a far better place then to get a good deal. |

Agreed. I've no idea about the credentials of any potential investor, I'm depending on the Trust to judge that but I have to admit to a feeling of deja vu about the line now being taken on here - reminds me of the arguments for the 2nd Brexit Referendum by the folk who lost that vote. |

"that was explained in their press release" I've no idea about these people's suitability but I thought we were meant to take claims by potential investors with a pinch of salt, that's what you've been telling us on here. |

Important and needs clarification from the Trust - will they be carrying out due diligence on WSH and the individuals named in JumeriahDale's post on the WSH thread? |

Agree with your analysis - Reform's humiliation was a welcome surprise. Another significant factor at the GE will be that, with the upcoming Constituency Boundary Changes, the Rochdale Constituency will lose Spotland & Falinge ward and thus a large part of the 'Muslim' vote. Interesting historical link - plus ca change! |

Presumably it will be carried forward until and unless it is revoked or changed by a future EGM when the Shareholders (then in existence) can vote to change any of the Articles/resolutions. Taking Judd's post above - assuming any new owner 'only' owns 90% of the shares and all other shareholders vote for an audit it would have to be held but ,as you imply, guaranteeing that 10% would be very iffy. |
| Forum Reply | EGM - which way are you voting? at 21:38 28 Feb 2024
A very heartfelt post and I'd guess your dilemma is shared by all, including SG (as RAFC quoted on the Dale Trust thread). However i beg you to vote, even if I disagree with what you choose. The right of all to have a part in deciding what happens is one of the great things about any democracy, even for the future of a (sic) shitty little northern football club. If it turns out mine or anyone's vote choice proves to be a mistake we won't be alone and if it turns out successful we can share in the glory. Use it or lose it. [Post edited 28 Feb 21:55]
