| Forum Reply | Goals For Cure - Joe Thompson Fundraiser at 19:05 11 May 2024
It was a cracking afternoon. Very well attended. Thompson XI won on penalties after a 2-2 draw, and a header by Calvin into the Sandy Lane goal for old time's sake. Many former Dale players in attendance, Joe Bunney, Keith Hill, Dale Stephens, Simon Ramsden, Tom Kennedy, Jason Kennedy, Paul McShane. Great entertainment, bars were crammed with customers and an appearance from Joe Thompson who was receiving chemo treatment at lunchtime today. A superb afternoon all round and I hope they make thousands for the cause. |

Where is this new app that we need to download? Can't see anywhere to download it, even on the ticketing website, though the Dale badge is there. |

I have no problem with that. The club needs increased revenue and our season tickets have been too cheap for too long. We need to accept that. |

"That famous old extinct club" Still turning in its' grave like an unsettled, disturbed and grieving soul. |

Beat Solihull on penalties after extra time finished at 2-2. |

Dale triggered their option on Odoh last season, but it didn't mean he stayed. Why stay if he's unhappy and under used? |

And a few more I know of. No excuse for this at all. |

No promotion and only 1 club relegated. It's happened before. |

Aldershot didn't qualify for the play-offs so why does it involve them? |

Halifax Rugby are buying it, or so a 'fax rugby fan told me last week. Big plans afoot if the deal can be sorted. |

There MUST be a change of Chairman. I cannot forgive his spiteful outburst at the EGM where he threatened to turn the Press on to anyone who voted against the proposals, (if they carried) and threatened to 'pull' the home fixture on the Saturday. Disgraceful conduct No apology has ever been forthcoming, which says everything and I shall never trust him again. Having heard other tales of his peevish conduct (ask Hornets) and other unacceptable comments, I'm afraid he's not fit or responsible to hold that position. Additionally, he has no credentials to hold a Chairmanship of a football club, no relevant experience and to be blunt, no bloody idea what he's doing. Imperative that he's replaced as soon as is practicable. |
| Forum Reply | Club Appeal Red Card.. at 21:24 7 Apr 2024
Has the penny dropped yet? It hasn't cost the club a penny. Let it go. How do you know how or who was actually funding the appeal in any case? And who are you to declare or determine whose opinions have more validity than others? 99% of posters on here are Dale fans, from many age categories and with varying experiences of supporting Dale over different periods of time. They are all welcome to express what they think without you slapping them down from your self assembled throne. Your haughty attitude is unnecessary. Debate by all means. Don't try and belittle people. |

I was amazed that the VAR referee didn't suggest the match referee take a second look. It looked even worse in slow motion. Casemiro was very, very fortunate. |

I haven't missed any point at all. There will be much to discuss going forwards, but that doesn't mean we all have to agree with you, no matter how much you whinge. Jim himself today, said the red card was a 'shocking decision' and presumably the FA disciplinary panel agreed. The club was entirely justified in pursuing the matter, even if it was their last groat. As you say, 'the principle is important'. The player was unjustly denied the opportunity of playing 3 games and the club were denied his presence in the team. Bury were a basket case under successive owners. Their problems were (and are) their own, so stop comparing apples with plums. Jim McNulty's priority this season was to keep the club in this division, stop the slide with resources at a bare minimum. He's done that and I applaud him (and the players) for it, even though it's been a tough watch on many occasions. Next season will look after itself, once the club and the investors have arranged a proper business model and a strategy that helps move the business forward and also assists the team to improve on the field. I'm sure most supporters don't expect open cheque books and reckless spending. If any of them do, they need to think again because it isn't happening and nor should it. Instead of bleating, see the outcome of the appeal and realise it was the just and proper thing to do. |

You also pointed out that it was a 'studs up lunge', worthy of a red card. Your completely over the top reaction (to what was always a proper course of action by the club), was ridiculous and all the hot air that you expended was wasted. At least you will now be able to put more of your pennies into the club, after your previous refusal to do so. |
