Maybe they're protecting their pitch too? Didn't we host their friendly against Ipswich (last season?) because neither of theirs was available?

Just to clarify, it's at their Training Ground on Oundle Road, not London Road.

Good signing - very experienced defender, for the most part at Championship and League 1 level. Quite honest too - he could have gone elsewhere, but decided his best chance for one last hurrah in his career was with Danny at the U’s.

I'm no expert on drainage, but I have backfilled probably more trenches than I've had hot dinners (and that's not necessarily an exaggeration). It's always tricky, because the bigger the trench the more the backfill will 'fluff' up in volume. If they are backfilled level, inevitably that backfill will eventually settle and the surface drop slightly. For a very narrow french drain, I wouldn't expect it to be a significant effect, but for a professional playing surface certainly noticeable, though it mat be just a visual effect because the grass above the trench is developing later than the pitch itself.? I would imagine if they need to they have plans to add material (likely a sand soil mix) to compensate, allowing the grass to grow through the aggregate - which shouldn't take very long this time of year.

Noah wasn't in the team photo either, or at least not the one I saw - but then again, if his future is still currently undecided, that would kind of make sense to stay away.

Pretty sure I read over the weekend (somewhere) Samson was carrying a knock, and that discussions with Noah were still ongoing?

This actually happened last night. The Killers paused their O2 concert to stream the last few minutes of the match, before launching straight into Mr Brightside - talk about knowing your audience, wonderful stuff!

Great track, but in answer to the original question, not any more.

I was surprised (or maybe not surprised) to read over the weekend that Connor Hall was part of DC's plans for next season, and they weren't expecting to lose him back to Port Vale. Suggests they made an offer we couldn't refuse, and of course Connor fancied a return as well.

...and of course McGeehan had already made it clear that his time at the U's was a stepping stone. He was excellent at the U's, but clearly destined for a higher league. No surprise, even if I'm disappointed.

You make an excellent point. In terms of place of birth, never mind where they've largely followed their career:

Alex Woodyard - Gravesend
Lyle Taylor - Greenwich
Jack Payne - Tower Hamlets
Rob Hunt - Dagenham
John-Kymani Gordon - Croydon
Ben Goodliffe - Watford
Harry Anderson - Chertsey
Matt Macey - Bath (the only outlier)

Been largely ever-present (40+ appearances) in every team he's played for since 2013, under a multitude of different managers, yes including the Cowleys. Prior to spending a year of his two year contract at York, that includes five consecutive seasons at League 1 level (Peterborough, six months on loan at Tranmere and AFC Wimbledon), and at 31 he's hardly in the twilight of his career?

Exactly, we've had many spectacular and stylish players over the last four years, and look how that's worked out. Good time to give a bunch of gnarly hard-working experienced professionals a go I reckon.

Well known to the Cowleys, and they always seem to get the best out of him too. Good solid signing, with plenty of experience.

Kelleher would be an excellent call as captain, and according to a chap on X with a pretty good record of being itk, it was Smith who failed the medical.

No, I'm pretty certain that iFollow will still be a thing next season, presumably just via Sky as the service provider. I had an e-mail earlier this month from EFL Digital confirming that subscriptions will still be available for matchday commentary, exclusive club videos etc., (and I assume live streams for midweek games not covered by Sky themselves, and all games for overseas U's).

They advised that everyone is going to have to resubscribe because the service provider is changing. That will also mean a new password too - apparently, try and log-in with your current username and password, then follow the instructions from there.
