Don’t get me wrong I’m not criticising the work we do, the community trust do a great job with the resources we have. The point I’m making is Stockport are in the school every week teaching the same kids every week. The kids see them as part of the community as they are there week in week out.

Apart from my son who was moaning as he had to wear a Stockport County kit when they took him to a football competition with his school at Man City’s training ground the other week. He saw it as a humiliation.

Stockport do amazing work in the community. They have a massive football in the community programme working with the local schools and council.

They have coaches going into schools delivering PE lessons and after school football clubs every week. In my son’s school he has a PE lesson from a coach provided by Stockport County once a week every week he also goes to a Stockport county run after school football coaching session once a week.

I have lost count of the amount of times we have been offered free tickets via the school.

They also run holiday clubs in some schools. The out reach they have throughout the borough is very impressive.

Obviously these things take time and it helps being successful but they are building their fan base starting very young.

I’d be looking to keep Gordon, he’s solved a problem position for us and allowed us to get more out Jimmy. For someone who had played little football he slotted in really well.

Every Dale fan should be breathing a sigh of relief and crossing their fingers that everything goes through.

The shares are being put into the name of the football community trust. This is not a golden share to protect the badge or colour of the kit. The Rochdale community will own the club lock, stock and barrel with a billionaire benefactor behind it should it need a few quid when times are hard.

This is not about investing hundreds of millions into the club. Its about securing it for the future so that we can continue to survive. To build our own future

This is about as good news as it gets for a dale fan. Well done to all involved.

Wolves Set To Sign Mane

We couldn’t give him a scholarship as we can only keep our AA status for one more year. We wouldn’t be allowed to sign him. It was explained at the forum that the best thing for the player was to help him find a club.

It was never clarified if we would get anything in terms of a fee.

The only way it could have been different was if we got promoted this season. If we get promoted next season we can still keep our AA status but that’s not guaranteed

New Trust Statement..
at 09:26 16 Mar 2024

And I think we can all accept there’s probably a lot more work going on behind the scenes than we appreciate. The trust and trust director are heavily involved which is exactly what is needed. It’s good to hear their assurances.

Patience and calm is what is needed now. We all want what is best for the club and right now that’s getting a deal over the line that secures our future. Then we can look towards a new start with our new partners.

Again thank you to all involved

I think no one wants Dale to fold, if we can see these next few weeks out and get this deal over the line then for the first time since we got relegated I can see a route back into the league

I expect it would come under the same rule given the reason they might not have completed was due to lack of finances

2.18 If during the course of a season the Board decide that the organisation and management or finances of a particular Club fall below the standards appropriate to membership of the Competition, the Competition Secretary shall be instructed to warn the Club at once that it may be excluded from membership of the Competition at the end of that playing season. Such a Club shall have the right to appeal to The FA within 14 days of the date of notification of the Board’s decision."

According to the above end of the season

As I read the rules the NL would only act at the end of the season. I think it’s in their interest to allow the club every possible chance of surviving. Dealing with a club going bust is easier at the end of a season than during.

I think the reason they didn’t go to shareholders with the idea of diluting shares is one of control. Shareholders would have demanded a say on who they were selling to. As it is the urgency has meant a majority has foregone that requirement.

Maybe we could pull together a budget together for next season if we could get through this but that’s a massive if. It feels like we would be stumbling on particularly with the current board.

I’ve unfortunately and reluctantly come to the conclusion that an investor is the only way forward. I just hope (there’s that word again) WSH if they get over the line will give us the chance to move forward.

Dale Trust Meeting With WSH LLC

I think the simple answer is we don’t know. It seems like the discussion was around how they find and theytype of investors they have.

We can’t say one way or the other if WSH have in place the funds needed to sign a deal in the timescale we have and to meet the National League rules.

Only WSH and the BoD know if the funds are in place to enable a deal to signed off and pass NL scrutiny. Given we are in a period of exclusivity We just have to hope they are.

We seem to relying on a lot of hope where our BoD are involved.

I agree with a lot of the points reshad, unfortunately the time for this approach was months ago, times run out.

Directors wanted to secure their loans against the ground and that is what the NL prevented. The directors lent the money anyway and that’s been used up.

They said at the directors loan EGM and again at the AGM that they had tried to get long term loan against the ground but were unable.

Our issue is cash flow. We have not enough money coming in to cover the outgoings. There’s no money left and where for the last 4 months directors have stepped in to bridge the gap, they tell us that’s no longer possible.

It’s simple we have two immediate issues, we have wages and bills due for March and April which need to be paid to enable to continue trading.

And if by a miracle we can get over this hurdle we have to show sufficient funding and budgets to the NL to allow us to start next season.

The board have constantly said they will be no plan b despite repeated requests by shareholders over the last six to twelve months. They could have suggested the 90% approach to selling the club months ago approached it in a sensible timescale, but instead they have let the bus freewheel to a cliff edge and rush it through.

Like it or not we either need a deal to be done with WSH that meets NL funding rules or miraculous offer of a cash injection from someone to see us through the next few months and cover the shortfall in budget until the end of next season.

Dale Trust Meeting With WSH LLC
at 11:37 14 Mar 2024

This bit is interesting:

“ Scott is seen as the relationship builder on behalf of investors and looks to attract passive investors in schemes he is involved in, although some he is talking to may wish to be more hands on, as their investment may be more significant.

If a sale were to go through, then the ownership company would be revealed. It will not be WSH LLC.”

Then further on

“ . In seeking to understand the type of investor that would be happy to invest in a perennial loss maker in a poor area with heavy and glamorous competition locally, Scott described them as being patient and understanding that a minimum term of 5 years + were to be expected before any return may happen. Additionally, he advised that they may be asked for further investment in order togenerate a return.”

At the fans forum I seemed to recall the board saying there were other parties who were involved in football clubs that are part of the WSH bid but don’t want to be named. I wonder if there are other people involved but the trust haven’t been told as it’s not nailed down yet?

It’s not to say they don’t have a plan in place but seems to still be formulating.

Dutch soccer holdings own Maastricht which Scott dyer is a director.

It sounds like WSH find the opportunity and then put together the investment to fund the proposals

But that still might be the case that the fastest is the best fit, we don’t know. The club had been talking to TFC in Early feb so may have already been making some decisions.

The thing is due to the lack of communication from the club we can only assume. Again we await the trust who have had chance to speak to WSH we may find out more. The club could learn a lot from them.

I think we have to understand they are not getting the club for £2 million , it’s going to take more investment to try and get us back in the league and established again in the Rochdale division.

Yes two million buys the club but that will only keep us standing still for a few years.

I think if we get a buyer that is willing to put the investment and time into us then once the dust settles on how we have got here, let’s hope the club that had its heart ripped out a few years ago and has declined since can start for the first time a long time to look forward.

Here’s hoping

If WSH continue to tick boxes and the trust are happy with that there conversations and observations are then I will feel at ease with the decision.

That is not to say I’m happy with how it’s been reached.
