And yet he's being slagged off right left and center by 'Saints fans' for having an opinion on recent very questionable events. You couldn't make it up.

Yes, Gazza too the main issue was the booze I'm sure. I was on the same flight as Best to Belfast once. I think it was before they renamed the airport after him. I didn't speak to him but wish I had now.

I think it's a deeper issue with Gazza. I think he did have mental health issues from a younger age, and had it not been for the structure provided by football, I don't think he would have been able to look after himself and would have probably ended up from an early age at some form of mental health medical facility.

His alcoholism was just a by product of this.
