Plans to demolish it and replace it with a tunnel which it should have been in the first place.
I think the traffic may be rather rather heavy during construction. (ahem).

I've got a bit confused by this thread so for clarity; Jayne Mansfield opened the flyover over Chiswick roundabout, which initially just carried the A4, not the meccano set over the Hogarth. A few years later it was extended and became the London start/end of the M4.

So just to clarify. They’re not building a tunnel to replace the Hammersmith Flyover, it wasn’t opened by Jane Mansfield and neither was the “Hogarth Rollercoaster” and you can only find decent fish and chips in South Shields which may or may not cost you a quid?

I think I might head over to the ‘Lyndon Dykes is the next Harry Kane’ thread now followed by the Friday music one (which was started on Thursday)

It will never happen ... but lets say it did ...

That would leave lots of room for say a large football stadium.
Yeah I know ... I shall get my coat.

It is very unlikely to happen, you're right. But it would allow the rather wonderful St Paul's church and its graveyard to breathe again, and if they didn't cover it in high rise flats, you could stroll across to the erstwhile Hammersmith Odeon.

This is a place of so many memories for me it's ridiculous: Saturday morning pictures and my first ever gig was at the Odeon, which just happened to be Queen, Christmas Eve 1975, when Bohemian Rhapsody was number 1. It was also my first ever date. And we always did our school Christmas carols and harvest festivals in the church. One year I had to read a section from the bible at the pulpit, aged 10. I was shitting myself, as you can imagine, particularly as the passage contained the word transubstantiation. The feckers, giving that to a 10 year old to read! I bloody pulled it off though!

Poll: Who is your player of the season?
