5 Things About QPR 22:43 - Nov 6 with 1172 viewsSaintNick

1. It has a lot of good pubs within walking distance and fairly reasonable prices for London.

2. The ground is still cramped and doesnt have that great an atmosphere , strangely there main singing bit is in the corner

3. The toilets are very cramped

4. The view from the front rows of the upper tiers is excellent, you can almost head the ball away yourself, reminded me of the view from the old Toomers chocolate box as older readers may remember.

5. Why was there so much negativity in some of our fans, certain players had no support whatsoever and were openly abused

Re. 5 you know the answer to that! Arnstrong admitted that some players haven't been giving 100 per cent for the shirt. Ofcourse they were abused. If you play for Southampton, you should always give your all.

1- agreed, went in a QPR only pub, lovely place.
2- Home fans very quiet but thought the away was excellent
3- Nowhere near as bad as the Camrose RiP
4- was about 2/3 way back and the view was great, it was like watching on a giant screen.
5- I didn’t notice much negativity, was actually suprised how much support Bazanu and Aribo got.

You were very late getting in the ground, Nick

I drove so it wasnt about hanging around in the pub, our follically challenged friend in the maroon harrington jacket wanted a kebab on the way to the ground and they took 15 minutes to cook it so it made us late

I was singing for most of the game.

Seemed to annoy one or two.

Champagne moment was me singing; “WE’RE BY FAR THE GREATEST TEAM THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN……”

Bloke two rows down from us turns round: “You need new glasses, mate. We’re fcuking shit, we’re clearly not the greatest team the world has ever seen.”

Five seconds later, Jay Robinson scored.

Beautiful.

Re point 5.

The booing of players is brainless.

I looked around me last night and so many Saints fans are just miserable types.

I honestly don’t know why some of them bother. Or even why they get out of bed in the morning.

I get it. The team have been crap.

But try supporting them. They might get better with it.

So many of our fans think that simply turning up constitutes support. And that just singing when you’re winning is OK.

It isn’t.

They deserved to be booed. They apparently haven't been giving 100 per cent. Do you really feel like saying that's great you haven't been trying your best well done, it doesn't matter that you don't try?

I personally think too much was made out of Adam Armstrong’s comments.

He would have been criticised if he had said the team were giving 100%, as if that was the case and we were still losing to the likes of Bristol City, Blackburn and Preston, then they must be terrible players.

Just support the team and make a racket.

We should do our bit as well here.

No, they are on tens of thousands a week. They were not giving 100 per cent. Still himself also said in so many words, that they were not goving 100 per cent. If you clap and get behind that, they are just taking the p!ss. 4 wins in 50 games is taking the p!ss out of the long suffering fans. It had to be questioned. They were not tackling, not stopping crosses and the lack of effort was clear to see. They were booed by St Mary's against Preston and rightly so. That "negativity" and protests have helped to bring about change and the players have been forced to question themselves. After the protests and chants against Preston we got a win. So it didn't do any harm. If the players look like they are fighting for the shirt, they deserve our support. If not, they don't. Seemingly because we won, the criticism made them question themselves and we won with some determination and resilience for.once.

I don’t get to many away games but thought the support last night was top notch, best I’ve seen for a long time.

The fans were happy Still was gone, happy the players for once showed some resilience, determination and obviously happy we got a win. The fans will be back behind the team if they give us something to get behind.
