Personally I thought the new keeper had a very good debut and looked very assured.
At no point through the game did he cause any panic. His distribution and shot stopping (although there wasn't much) was perfectly acceptable.
All in all a good start for someone aged 23 with not many games under his belt.

Totally agree.

Five to go.

Three of them never played for Bolton, but were in their youth set-up before joining Dale, where they did play.

Another made 81 appearances for Dale, 16 for Bolton.

The final one was a Dale pre-season trialist and played league football for Bolton. He currently plays in League Two.

The five of them cover years 1977-the present day.

There are also three coaching links: Neil Edwards coached at Bolton and Owain Fon Williams is there at present in that role. Also, I think, Fred Barber held that position but Dale’s keepers would work with him too for a while.

It’s a great question, the 90s keepers should be memorable to any regular fan over a certain age.

He was born in Bolton, but was a youth player at Man U. Whether he was an even younger youngster at Bolton isn't known.

Yes, and they both appeared in significant FA Cup ties.

Mark Howard I think might be the one we had on trial.

No. He doesn't fit any of the aforementioned clues, especially as I'm not counting Luton at home in the FA Cup as a significant tie!

Andrew Slack
A school friend of mine, still have a pint with him now nice bloke.
Think he made his debut against Huddersfield away when Bob Mountford who we had just sold to them knocked him out with an elbow just before half time.
Andy got him back second half and Bob congratulated him.
Typical Bob, tough as old boots. Loved him when he played for Dale.
I was at Brentford mid week when we lost 4-0 and Andy saved a penalty which he tells me was the first one the guy had missed.
Didn’t play for us long as he injured his knee collecting a cross and landing awkwardly.
