Few players do that these days, and I have always thought that there is a different kind of reward - in terms of a kind of reputational capital - for those who do show loyalty. As a youngster, I followed the Hammers, probably due to their 64 cup andbecause of the World cup 3 , went to see them in 65 I think at cardiff, but the players I liked were Bonds and pop robson.
