Southampton Pursuit Of Manchester United Defender Reveals Financial Gulf Between The Clubs
at 21:43:45

You do realise that a lot of the time, the club the player goes to, doesn't pay all the wages, right?

I'd expect Saints to pay around half those wages, should he go to St. Mary's.

Officials too lenient?

Behave, let McCarthy take as much time as he wanted on goal kicks, booked Ederson the one and only time he did the same.

Saints At Manchester City The Preview
at 13:48:52

Sorry Nick, but you're deluded if you think having Fonte and van Dijk would have resulted in a Saints win on Tuesday. City played at around 60% for most of the match.

I see this being a difficult match for us, especially if it is level at half time, playing 3 at the back could be genius, if you push us back up the pitch a bit, or suicidal if you allow us too much space down the flanks.

Safe trip up for those going, and good luck for the rest of the season after tomorrow, excluding the return fixture, obviously!

To add to the above by skiptonsaint, just in case you are googling, it's the Britons Protection, and Peveril of the Peak, both really close to the Jury's Inn, if you are staying over, you also have the excellent Rain Bar really close to there.

If you go to Salford Quays, Lime Bar is a decent place for a bite to eat and a few pints.

Just a heads-up Gents, City Square is ALWAYS home fans only.

@TimSaint, the showsec stewards (black & yellow jackets) are wanchors, City's own stewards are generally excellent.

What Do Saints Need To Do To Finish The Job On Sunday !

Nick, Stoke 'only score 13 per game?!'

As for saintsaintsaint's comment about the best attack in the league, I think you'll find that's City, mate.

If any of you end up parking at Salford Quays, there is a decent place for refreshments called Lime Bar there, allows away fans in, and does decent food and drink.

It's around 15 minutes walk to the ground from there.

To add to the above, The Manchester has been shut for months...

Also, hopefully this will be for away fans too, between 6:30 and 7:30pm, beer is just £2.50 a pint, as opposed to the usual £4/£4.50.

I will be going up from Southampton for this (as I do just about every home game) and all I will say is, the earlier you leave, the better, It has taken me between 4 and 6.5 hours to get there at times this season.

You will NOT be allowed into the areas that serve alcohol at City Square, as an away fan. But you might possibly meet a decent Blue that will pass over a ticket for you to use to enter. I've done it for people I know in the past.

Football Italian Style ! Palermo V Parma
at 14:12:30

I concur about the atmosphere at an Italian Serie B game, I went to watch Hellas Verona a couple of times last season, I saw a 2-2 draw and a come-from-behind 3-2 Hellas win in their grudge derby game against Vicenza, the atmosphere at both were superb.

You could get a beer in the concourse from a mobile cart at any time, and take it on the terrace with you too.

There are bars right outside Hellas's ground, and they are usually packed with fans, but not to the same degree they seem to be over here.

I enjoyed reading that, thanks.

I think you are completely wrong about Pellegrini not caring where we finish in the league, Manuel is a decent man and he will not want his reputation tarnished by finishing outside the top four.

He does, however, have a but of a dilemma bout which team to start the game with.

Does he start Aguero and De Bruyne, hoping to get the game won early? (not in the slightest guaranteed at a difficult place to go to), or does he rest a few players and hope it works out?

It will be an interesting game, see you there peoples!

You are better off drinking in town and getting a cab, as SaintNick has suggested.

Those that are going, have a safe trip up and back, hope it's a good game but that you leave Manchester empty handed !

Celtic needing to find two new CB's now then, as we have welcomed Denayer back to the Etihad.

Mind you, they could probably play with 9 on the pitch in that league and still win it !

Hope I am not disappointing you lads and lasses but City Square is ALWAYS home fans only.
You have to show your seasoncard or match ticket to get in.

There is another pub not too far from the ground lets away fans in, called The Townley but beware, they won't let you take it over, it's always friendly in there. Less than ten minutes walk from the stadium. Another one called The Bradford allows away fans, but to be honest the pubs in town are a lot better and less crowded, easy access to the ground too, 20-30 min walk, less than ten mins in a taxi or take the metro.

Man City Not Taking Full Allocation
at 16:20:00

Good evening Saints fans...

It's not about the cost of this particular game, I can assure you, it's an accumulation, we just played Chelsea and West Ham away, both on tv, both sold out at £58 and £52 per game respectively, we have West Brom away a few days before too, as you have stated, plus there is quite a few doing Bayern Munich away in the midweek after, myself included. Added to that, xmas just a couple of weeks away.

I will be there, but it's a local game for me, I live down here, I have a season ticket at City.

and truthful saint, if we as City fans were scared of a hammering, we'd still be in the 3rd division, as nobody would have carried on attending. I'm looking forward to the game, as I always do, but I doubt we will win.

Nice to see Saints doing well, keep it up!
