A lesser-spotted 9 out of 10 for Eze, and well-deserved.

I think the line that he was too unhappy to tackle or too homesick to track back does kind of iognore that Kevin Gallen flagged that there were questions about his work-rate and physicality before he joined us.

I'd like to think that he learned from the coaches, the players and the fans what's acceptable and what isn't, and that he improved. That would make it less likely that he'd revert, hopefully.

I agree with you that he's player of the season to date. And by a distance too.

Ha ha!

I'm not upset, Nix.

He went games without tackling in his first season, numerous games without one single tackle. I saw numerous instances of him not tracking back. Just giving up, and not bothering.

He definitely hid behind players so as not to get the pass, but then so did Colback (we love him, Nixy! :) ). This bit, I can understand. This might be fear. This might be lack of confidence. I can get that.

But not tracking back to help out your team-mates?
Not tackling for the ball to help out your team-mates?

I don't understand that.

As I say, glad he's playing well now.

Ya, I have, Nix.
I watched the other one at the start of the season too.

I'm sorry. It's not that I don't like him. He seems a lovely lad.
I've never met him so of couse this isn't personal.

But last year he hid in games, and was lazy as sin.
This year he hasn't, and isn't.
If he's still here next year, I might forget about last year.

Jesse Jackson
at 20:23 18 Feb 2026

I've been thinking about this all day, and I can't believe how little I know about Jesse Jackson.

When I was doing my catholic confirmation aged eleven, I had to pick a 'confirmation name'. I picked Luther. It was a tribute to Martin Luther King. It might have also been just to annoy the Bishop. We ended up having a chat about it. I went with Joseph in the end, but I got concessions in other areas. A long story.

Anyway, all this is to point out how much I adored Martin Luther King. But, while I'd heard about Jesse Jackson, and continued to hear about him, I'm ashamed to admit that I really know very little about him.

So, all I can say is that from what I know he seemed to make a hugly positive effect on the world and on humanity.
He seemed to be on the caring side, the human side, whenever I did hear his name.

Ar dheis Dé.
Say hello to Martin if that's possible at all.

Love one of them.

The other - 50/50 - and will have to do another good season to make me consider forgetting how lazy he was in last year's poor season before I love him.

The one that got away?

Absolutely has the technical and physical ability to succeed at our level - deserved MOTM against Italy's Under-21's ( I know I've referenced it before, but there's no messing with that).

But the question for him maybe was whether he could produce that ability consistently, or even semi-consistently. He didn't for us. He always seemed overwrought to me. If he solves that, or can be helped to solve that, then you've opened up a good career.

I can see why we signed him.
I can see why we sold him.
I can see why Bristol City signed him.

Can I just add that I used to know Stephen Gallen very well back in the 90's, and he's also a thoughtful, decent and respectful person. Ethos.

I honestly don't think the injuries should be the pint of primary focus.

We need to go one step back and look at our lack of fitness - speed, strength, and especially stamina.

That will raises two questions:

1) Is our lack of fitness costing us games? and
2) Is our lack of fitness causing injuries, which are also costing us games?

Cracking post, jtuck, especially on Mbengue.

Agree on all points.

Mbengue's discipline had improved massively before the regression against Wrexham, and even then I think we should have closed the game out. He put us in jeopardy, which the management and team should address with him, but they should also know that his sending-off was no excuse for some of the poor play that followed.

Just one person?

I might actually get married if it didn't involve anyone else.
