TVOS Preview - Rochdale v Brackley Town

I came through Carlisle yesterday and was surprised how mild it was. If you look at the West Coast other games have been on too - like Southport and Stranraer.

Karma is a lovely thing. Southend game postponed because they haven't done enough to protect their pitch. I only mention it because some of their fans were calling for us to have points deductions or be relegated because our pitch couldn't cope with the weather.

Morning Daleys. A quick plea for those attending Accrington tomorrow. The seats are tight and the graduation of the seating is low . So standing up every time Dale approach the opposition box is unfair on those who are sat behind you. It happened a lot on Tuesday night and the kids sat behind us didn't see a thing. Its not right and if you want to stand please go into the terrace. You wouldn't do it at COA would you? Thank you

TVOS Preview - Rochdale v Hartlepool United
at 21:10 28 Dec 2025

Will be strange having our next two homes games at Accy. But grateful that they have helped us when we needed it. I see that Accrington play on Monday night, and then we play on Tuesday night. The weather forecast is very chilly - perhaps -1c during the second half. In fact it is forecast to rarely get above 1 or 2C all week. Praying that the weather doesn't get in the way of our games next week.

As for the fans I hope we are travelling in good numbers despite the inconvenience. The coaches are leaving 3 hours before kick off so that won't appeal to many of those that needed a lift to the game. Just hope everyone can get there that wants to. You can see from the ticketing platform that we have about 250 seats left to sell - with terrace options available too. Not sure Hartlepool will be travelling in numbers as they have sold around 100 tickets so far.

Lets hope the club gives this game a last minute push tomorrow and we can make The Wham stadium a home fortress and bring back the 3 points over Owd Betts.

No need to panic. The balance sheet has changed as the new owners need to 'subsidise the club' whereas their investment initially on takeover made the balance sheet look attractive.

What we didn't do is spend spend spend on players. The shareholders were given the details about a month ago and I think you'd be surprised at how low the playing budget is compared to the bigger teams in the division.

It already is and was confirmed on our OS about 10 days ago. Even Morecambe fans is all ticket - no sales online on the day either

Don't disagree with any of that and of course they had much better gates against Hartlepool and Southend that has boosted their average. They have been hovering around 600-700 over recent months with the decline in form. But 250 hardcore is still a surprise. Not sure how they will survive to be honest.

Was just reading that Gateshead had a total attendance yesterday for the cup game against Morecambe of 363 - of which 103 were from Morecambe. So a home gate of just 250. We think we have a challenge on attendances

FIFA gouging the fans again
at 12:28 12 Dec 2025

People need to boycott it. Over $4,000 for a final ticket. And circa $15k per person to follow their team through all stages and pay for travel too. It is obscene. Even the Americans are complaining. The ordinary fan was priced out of our beautiful game decades ago. There is a call for UEFA to pull away from FIFA and run the Euros every 2 years. Some of the other football federations (like South America) can then choose whether to join in. FIFA has to go.

Joey Barton

He has got away lightly on this one. The Judge said his offending was of a serious nature and normally started at 2 years imprisonment for each offence. Barton arrived at court with a holdall expecting to be going to jail. I was surprised to hear his prison term was suspended. The judge referred to his poor track record before the courts too. He has got away with it....except big fines and some compensation pay outs.

Indeed TVOS. Just thought the club would have announced something before fans started committing to the seats. I know you could argue that those getting the seats this week are all ST holders and they have nothing to lose. But if they can't get there, the seat will be booked out but left empty. There are only 2500 seats for home fans at Accy and it is a Christmas fixture against Hartlepool. We don't want the same outcome as the free games, where no tickets were left on the day, but more than half the booked seats remained empty on the night.

Anyhow, lets hope that something is announced this week.

Whilst I applaud these organisations for stepping in to offer a service whilst the club remains silent, I was hoping that the club would run a fleet of double decker buses at say £5 return to get as many fans to Accrington as possible. Time will tell.

I think you are in danger of turning the comments of a man that was both angry and frsutrated with the outcome of a game into a villain. Remember his emotions are high after a game - I generally don't listen to him now after a game because he talks tripe. Is he frustrated that we haven't got a decent pitch after all the money spent on it 5 years ago - Yes he is. Aren't we all. He was very very clear that the new owners had nothing to do with that and that they are focussed on helping him to fix things. His swipe was at previous regimes. I would of course respectfully remind him that previous regimes have done their best with their hands tied behind their back. Money has always been in short supply. He will have felt that in all his time at the club. If only we had the support base of a York, a Southend, or a Carlisle, and we would have had the funds to make sure everything was fine. But we don't. And of course these clubs haven't ever gone bust either despite their incomes have they? I think we all know that we have been very lucky to have survived over the past 20+ years.

Behave. You have no idea what the club knew or didn't know. Experts told the club it would be okay if covered during the deep winter months and then a full rebuild would be needed in summer 2026. They didn't ignore the issues - they took advice. Something you lot should have done when you were gloating about flying to Exeter when your club was spending money it didn't have. At least we still don't spend money we don't have.

Update on the pitch
at 12:07 4 Dec 2025

We upgraded the floodlights to meet new regulations about 3 or 4 years ago. So I doubt they are below the standard needed. But they don't feel very bright I agree. Given that the Ogdens are lending the club another £1.5m (?) to rebuild the pitch, I am not sure we can ask for more at this time.

Seems bizarre that people think like that. On the day, that ground will be ours and we will make it a home by being there in numbers. The club now need to find ways to make it easier for fans to get there. Somebody earlier in this thread didn't agree with me, but I think the club needs to arrange transport to the other ground from Spotland and the town centre at a nominal cost to the fans (i.e not for profit). Take the hassle and excuses away. We have hundreds of fans that travel from far and wide to games, it would be a shame if some people locally find an excuse not to do it.

I am sure that the fans will understand. I would hope that the club would organise transport for travel to another ground on a not for profit basis. But lets see where the ground will be. I am sure the club has provisional commitments before they agreed a plan with the National League.

As you say, the club debt doesn't need to grow in order to keep everyone happy

We all groaned when he took McBride off. But fair play, the subs made a real difference. Not a great watch, but winning ugly is the next best option. Shame about the gate, but the uncertainty with the pitch doesn't help.

It is wild out there. Lorries queueing at Milnrow on M62 due to winds on M62 at Rakewood. Queensway flooded both sides ... barely passable. It would be a shame if the pitch is okay but the area around the ground isn't.

No idea where Aldershot are staying but they are not at the Norton Grange.
