Come backs
at 17:07 9 Jan 2021

There will be more but as well as today can only think of Dale coming back from 3 nil to score 3 in the second half twice.

Pretty sure it happened in the same season; Morecambe in the league and Luton in the FA Cup (lost at home in replay 1:0)

At least that's how I remember those games.

Pubs with rooms
at 13:29 25 May 2019

Coming up in a couple of weeks to spread Dad's ashes over Knowl Hill. Looking for B&B or pub in Rochdale area 7th and 8th June with 2 or 3 room. Will only be sleeping there so cheaper the better.

Any help appreciated, cheers.

This week's pre-match interview
at 14:14 30 Nov 2018

A more reflective, honest interview. The full 20 mins available on freeview.
Takes full responsibility for Tuesday night.
Clough has had several niggly injuries and is injured now. Kgosi, Cannon also, Gillam been injured since the Bury game.
Worth a listen.

The run in
at 21:40 27 Mar 2017

So as not to deflect from totaliser thread.

Milwall have a difficult fixture list with 5 away and 3 home.

Southend look to have it relatively easy and Scunthorpe are almost certainly out of reach.

Bradford however, although 9 points ahead, face a difficult task as well.

Last game of season could be a cracker.

100 goals
at 18:34 17 Apr 2016

Was just looking at the league table and noticed if Colchester carry on conceding at the rate they have been, they could well have let in a ton or more.

That got me thinking how often it's happened - often, but not since stockport in 01/02 - and found this site http://www.footballsite.co.uk/Statistics/Articles/DidYouKnow07.htm

Dale are "ranked" 4th in all time list conceding 135 in season 31/32, six less than leaders Darwen in 1898/99

50 iconic goals...............
at 12:00 7 Nov 2014

....... on bbc website. A few old memories as well as some of the expected and oft repeated. Bobby Stokes scoring for Saints in '76. Best thing about that one, not the goal itself but commentary telling us he'd won a car for scoring the opener and that he was so confident he'd already booked driving lessons!!

The league table..............
at 17:54 1 Nov 2014

......... doesn't lie but I can't help shaking my head in disbelief!!

That said, and having witnessed the Swindon and Yeovil games, and listened to commentary today and most other weeks, one can only look on in wonderment at what is happening at Dale.

Even better than the here and now is the whole set up, from youth all the way to first team and it's all down to KH and the structure he and back room staff have put in place.

Whatever way results go between now and the end of the season, the future looks very, very special and KH deserves all the plaudits for this particular revolution

Probably our finest ever achievement
at 12:59 23 May 2014

No, not the two promotions under Hill, not the one in '69 either.

Was checking history for the first/last away thread and decided to look at the results of my last full season living in Rochdale, remembered in my mind as the great escape. Had forgotten how great it was!!

After 21 games we had 10 points on the board (2 for a win), then came the big freeze, missing school to clear the pitch only for more rain/snow and -degree temperatures. No home fixture between 9th December and 10th March when we drew with Hartlepool, 26 games gone, 16 points!
We then played 20 games in 9 amazing weeks picking up a further 23 points to eventually finish one place above relegation with 39 points.

But for that last two months, who knows where we'd be now!

......Yep, I've got one! My lad asked for one but now has to work.
The ticket is for the uncovered seating £15 and is still in Rochdale so easy to arrange.

On Daleplayer, interviewer suggested to Hill that he owes Pompey for the result earlier in the season "I don't owe anyone anything, I don't even have a credit card" another classic Hillism

................ and taking into consideration recent results ie drawing at Bury when could have gone either way, losing in Devon - deservedly - and today, losing with time running out and not looking like anything positive was about to happen (from commentary anyway) then winning AND AFC getting an equaliser in the last minute,,, is that the most important three points of the season? It really could prove to be.

League table
at 15:13 12 Jan 2014

As mentioned elsewhere by Mr Lama, it's starting to take shape. Also worth noting is that Newport's home form is pretty good and they've played 14 of their 24 away from home so I expect them to finish strongly. Similarly, both Oxford and Chesterfield have played 14 home, 10 away although one could argue that benefits Oxford as they're unbeaten away.
