Pre Season
at 13:37 8 Jul 2019

Planning a trip from Japan now to take in the final friendly against Cologne. Will be my first Saints game for about 30 years! Last one a pre-season at a Wolves Molineux with a mate who supported them. All I remember about the game is two sides of the ground were closed post the Bradford fire, and the main stand was so far from the pitch it was probably in a different post code. Steve Bull was playing for Wolves.
Taking the whole family, so hoping to make Saints supporters out of my two boys.
While I’m here, I have a question: If you want to meet the players before the game, what time should we be at the stadium? Boys are hoping for a photo with Maya. Ah, reminds me of when I used to get in early at the Milton Road corner hoping to get autographs of the players in the early ‘80’s!

Wouldn't be so bad if it was only one loony, it's the one in Washington that worries me. Kim is a loon but a smart one. He knows the cards he holds very well, and is pushing things as far as he can. However just one mistake or miscalculation on either side and boom! Worrying.

Also worrying is the fact as the bird flies we in Kyushu, Japan, live closer to Pyongyang than to Tokyo! Better check the passports...

Back pass

Maya was at fault but some of the blame is Fonte's too. Check the replays and you can see he was telling Maya to pass it back to the keeper. Yes, Maya should check for himself but he was following captains orders.

I'm sure having Pat back will mean we'll kill them them off in the 2nd half. Glad to have you back safe and sound!

We've been way the better side so we should win this...

Nothing like that tonight. UAE scored with an early chance, Japan got.back into it with a great second half strike. TBH it was all Japan with out the deciding goal. UAE were parking the bus big time, but that's how it goes. Maya will be back for next weekend anyway. Crap for the Samarai Blue, but a bonus for Saints

Thanks for posting that Patred. Great header from a short corner. Was against Palestine, bit of a Sunday league team to be honest. Played with lots if heart to the end but totally outclassed by the reigning Asian Champions.

He's not too happy by the timing of the Asian Cup too...

I can speak total bollocks in Japanese as well as English, though the locals can talk better Japanese bollocks than me. Come to think of it, most of them talk nothing but bollocks all day.

OK try the method. First go here:

https://archive.org/web/web.php

And then search for:

http://www.soton.ac.uk/~saints/

That should show you all the available archives. Earliest is 1996.

Hope it works!

Think a web browser sees it as two links. Copy the whole link and paste in your browser. That should work.

Good one.

Only we could see MoPo going from weeks before and I have my doubts if he was any better than Nigel really. Not a bad manager but very much a one trick pony. As for Pullis he pulled their ass es out of the relegation zone and you have to wonder who else could have done that. Huge loss!

Sure you're rock'in and roll'in with the best of them!

Had one the other night at 2 am here. Was woken by the earthquake warning from my mobile at least 10 seconds before the shaking started! If we'd been closer to the epicentre it wouldn't have been so long...

Hope the earth stops moving for you soon son.

Just seen it was only 1.2miles deep, bloody hell that is shallow! Ours are usually 20+km or so. Really hope it quietens down for you.

Will be a great game if any of these scores (and scorers) come true!

0-2 Saints. Jay-Rod curled right footed from the edge of the box, and Yoshida to nod one in from a corner to seal the game. Worth a bob or two I'd say.
