Us vs Wrexham was bad but that is a capitulation for the ages...

Nice to see a bench with so many young players that doesn't immediately invoke a deep sense of dread...

No loans in January - Confident in our Squaf Depth
at 09:03 5 Feb 2026

To be fair, DMc seemed to suggest that it was a choice rather than necessity in the latest WLS podcast. Him and Gallen both seemed pleased by it rather than indicating that the money had dried up, though they also said that the Field loan was due to the high loan fee.

Agreed. I like the look of Bennie a lot. I was quite skeptical before but he has pace and a decent positional sense. I think he'll grow into the first team, same as Kolli who looks best as a striker to me

Field to Norwich

The statement from Nourry on Sam certainly doesn't read as "we've gotten better and moved on", but rather "he was unhappy with his playing situation under the current manager so we let him go temporarily and we'll rethink in the summer"

Field to Norwich
at 02:45 3 Feb 2026

From the BBC article on the subject:

""I'm desperate to play football. The first half of the year hasn't gone the way I'd like it to and Norwich expressed an interest. It was an opportunity that sounded perfect for me," said Field, who has also played for West Brom and Charlton."

Sounds like maybe the club allowed him to move? I know the ITK's have been talking about him moving since the summer, mind.

Missed the game today since I'm out of town, but from the extended highlights we looked class. Absolutely gutted to have missed it!

22 is still pretty young. My joke about flipping these players 6 months later aside, it seems to me that we are aiming to grab athletically-gifted players in the hopes that we can teach them the positioning and skills. This is showing some fruit, with Bennie not lighting it up but showing he is there or thereabouts in the 1st team.

I'd personally rather we got more developed players in but given our financial constraints, this seems like a low-risk high reward strategy, since players who don't look like making it can be flipped for a small profit / breaking even, and we might find a diamond in the rough. I don't love it but I don't hate it either.

DMc seemed to be hinting that it was a permanent in the WLS podcast.

Would be quite amusing if we turn around and sell Adamson for a profit. Maybe that's the plan now? Buying kids in Oz for 100k and then selling them 6 months later to the US for 500k, plugging the PSR gap one Aussie youngster at a time.

WLS reporting it to be £500k. Means that with Obikwu we essentially get a younger, faster player on cheaper wages for net nothing.

Liked Frey and thought he was a good character. He looked like a marauding barbarian when he was really on it, Luton away being the absolute best

BBC Sport stats suggesting we're doing very well?

I think he'll stick with the 4-4-2 since we've had better luck with it at home. Not to be a downer but I reckon QPR 0 - 2 Wrexham

January transfer rumours
at 15:17 22 Jan 2026

Given we just loaned out one centre-half to Scotland and just bought another for £4.5m, feels a bit bizarre to turn around and sign another. We also have three in the development squad who are getting rave reviews.

I hope this is just smoke.
