Hearts have a capacity of just under 20,000 whereas the attendance at Celtic yesterday was 60,000, Celtic received an allocation of between 600 & 700 tickets so a fair like for like (or more like tit for tat) allocation would have been around 2,000 tickets for the Hearts fans. |

Well done the purps! £30,000 in prize money to the winners today and around £45,000 banked in total prize money (including today) from their Cup run. A bit of positivity for football in the Southampton area is most welcome. |
 | Forum Reply | Anybody watch the Cup Final? at 15:53 17 May 2026
Yesterday was the first time since the end of season split promotion / relegation format for the division was introduced that the team top of the table at the time the League schedule those final fixtures was not given a home game. Hearts were top at the time so were expecting home advantage. To schedule the game giving Celtic home advantage was deliberate and in addition Celtic were allowed to give Hearts an allocation of just 726 tickets in a 60,000 seat stadium. No additional away seats were left empty, they were all sold to Celtic fans to give the home team maximum advantage in their biggest home crowd of the season. Basically, Hearts were up against 11 opposition players, the ref, VAR, the League and just over a 1% ticket allocation to ensure any vocal support for them was minimalised. About as easy as trying to push water uphill… |
 | Forum Reply | Should Tonda be sacked if he new we were spying . at 15:27 17 May 2026
Agreed, and in addition to that, would sacking Tonda stop the fans from other clubs calling us cheats? No way, it won’t make a blind bit of difference, they will still be calling us cheats next season come what may so why shoot ourselves in the foot by sacking the best manager we have had in ages… |

I wonder if Gibson will have the away team dressing room professionally swept for covert listening devices prior to the game tomorrow evening ? |

With the Boro training ground still in mind, if the forward party are on the MI5 or MI6 and they need a comfort break or fuel they can make use of those little known about facilities between Doncaster and York, they are not on any maps or sat navs, they are known as the Secret Services, not easy to find as all the signs to them are encrypted… |

OMG Barry's got another one, North London will be in meltdown! FFS, hold on, here come Citeh, 3-2, just when the Gooners were doing back flips... |

Total frauds the pair of them. Football wise, yes, you are quite right, they have not had a good season. However, football continues to reward failure due to the ridiculous way its administrators write the rules regarding the termination of contracts. In almost any other profession if you are cr@p at your job you get kicked out without ceremony yet in football you get rewarded, often very handsomely for abject failure. It seems that Watford have gone through 15 managers in the last 5 seasons, and that excludes interims between the (fleetingly) full time appointments! That means a Watford manager lasts on average 15-16 league games… God only knows how much Watford must be paying ex-Managers every month! Ed Still was on a 2.5 yrear contract so that’s a tidy sum even at Championship rates. |

It wouldn’t have mattered, with Bazunu in goal Ipswich would have been 4-2 up, the Clarke effort would have probably have been their 5th…. That is not a criticism of the team, just Bazunu. Tonda saw straight through him and got him out of the door pronto. [Post edited 29 Apr 17:11]

City will also have the Vunts at Stockley Park to give them a helping hand on the day, give them three or four minutes and VAR will always find something to stitch up the underdog, case in point, Coventry City’s perfectly good goal against Man Utd at Wembley in the 2024 semi final. |

An experience I’d happily not experience! As the Final is in Cardiff can you imagine having to put up with them on the trains from Paddington? Because of the numbers involved it would be a police operation like no other, it would probably ruin the pre / post match experience too. Thoroughly enjoyed Cardiff in 2003 for the FA Cup Final, no way would it be the same this time around if Millwall are involved. |

All the extra trains laid on are going via Havant and Guildford so they will dodge the bus replacement service as they don’t go anywhere near Basingstoke. |

Don’t know if this counts, but I had a home shirt back in the days of Draper Tools sponsoring us. The sponsors logo was individual flock printed letters and after a while the D and the second R of Draper fell off so I was walking around with a shirt with rape tools on the front… Oh yes, and James Beat tie to add to the list [Post edited 13 Apr 14:31]
