Players on decent money nowadays, so wisely invested should set them up for life. Not the case back in the day.i think I remember Ray Kennedy selling his FA Cup medal to fund his medical bills. |

I stay clear from all social media platforms - although I’m sure my life is too mundane to raise much comment among the ‘warriors’ - but for Paul and yourself, Clive (and countless) others, this sick and vile behaviour should not have to be tolerated. |

Some great points raised Dave B and I agree with most of it. But - ‘ we were never going to maintain our four match winning run at home’. Why not? And especially why not against Norwich? ‘We are a streaky team’ - why? ‘Streaky’ is just another word for inconsistent . If we accept that Leicester first half was a ‘tear in the fabric of reality’ (as per LFW glossary), why cannot we maintain the standards we showed against Birmingham for example? If we played against Norwich (and Portsmouth and WBA) like we played against Brum, I’m confident we would have accrued more than one point. You are absolutely right, we are not going to win every game (Championship innit?), but can we not at least try to? |

Still maintain he is being played out of position, when on the pitch this season. He is not a ‘10’ (god know we have enough of them), but needs to be at the top end of the pitch where he can bully defenders in and around the box. He was very effective at this last season when playing with poorer quality players. Also, it is very difficult to hit the ground running when you are a bit part player. We have seen this with Morgan and Field this season among others. His work rate is phenomenal and definitely the ‘right sort’ we want around the place. I for one will be sorry to see him go, but if he is not being utilised properly, then it is the right decision for both him and us. Marti might buy him on a short-term contract, if he keeps his job. Half a mill would buy him I’m sure. |

Yes if Chair is fit, let him play off either Burrell of Kane, with Smyth starting to his right. Behind them play Madsen in the centre with Field and Hayden/Varane to the left and right of him Flat back four behind that. Gives solidity in midfield and pace/energy and most significantly guile (Chair) up front. Of course none of that matters if they don’t try, but I think Field is worthy of an extended run of a mid-field trio. |

Also Bristol City, that we beat away, thrashed Portsmouth 5-0 because Portsmouth are sh1t. Swansea, that we beat away, beat WBA, cos WBA are sh1t. |

Fair play at least you have been productive - I’ve been wallowing in Jameson |

I watched every minute of the game too and I have to say your definition of ‘effort’ is very different than mine. Today was a million miles from the Birmingham game never mind Leicester. Remember how they were busting a gut closing down every Brum player, winning possession high up the pitch and generally causing them all sorts of problems in the final third. Every time we attacked Birmingham I thought we might score, only Cook made me feel that way first half. Then it got worse instead of better! Where was the effort to prevent Norwich scoring in the first minute. What was RND doing, why did Jimmy lose his man? You talk about tiredness and lack of energy, like they all played twice in the one day. Like Norwich haven’t played for a month. Half this team was ‘rested’ against WBA. They are professional footballers and can’t run around and pass coherently against a team in the bottom three, just the same as they didn’t run around and pass the ball coherently at WBA a few days earlier. This is not a dig at you FB, but this ‘effort’ was well below an acceptable standard for the third game in a row and about the eight time this season in total. |

Yes I said as much on page one of the thread. You can’t just switch on and off performances like a tap. You try to win EVERY game. You won’t of course, but you TRY. Trying takes EFFORT. No effort evident since the final whistle v Leicester. |

Back in the day you could just blame the groundsman. You could even coming running onto the field with pitchforks - but only to stick little holes in the ground mind |

This is true. But it also applied to the last two games regardless of personnel |

Agree with all this, except I lost my rag after the Portsmouth match. Didn’t even bother to watch the WBA match as everything about it smelt of ‘can’t be arsed’, from the team selection down. The bare minimum expected after forcing fans to travel and watch that double dross is six points, but we’ll see. |

Surely we cannot produce three inept performances in a row. Equally we can’t expect to turn it on when we feel like it, like a tap or we will come unstuck. Hoping Chair is fit to return today, badly missed the last two. We know that ‘on our day’ we are a match for pretty much anybody in this league - trouble is we never know when we are going to be ‘on it’ or not until the game gets going. Thinking a 3-1 result if we are, another turgid draw if we are not. |
